SUPERHOSTS! A smaller double room in our traditional home, with built-in wardrobe, and balcony overlooking the street. Only a short walk to the shops and restaurants, and just 20 minutes' walk to the beach! Regular bus services by ALSA.

We can accommodate bicycles but please advise us beforehand if you are planning on bringing one.

The space

The room is quietly situated at the front of the house, with a balcony overlooking the village street. We provide a double bed, a chest of drawers, and a built-in wardrobes. WiFi is provided free of charge on every floor.

Guests can enjoy our simple continental style breakfast served in the Dining Room overlooking the town and the mountains (the views really are breath-taking). There will be a selection from either assorted cereals or cheeses and meats; fresh fruit and/or fruit juice; and toast with tomatoes or marmalade/jams; all served with coffee and/or a selection of teas. We will always be happy to try to help with specific requirements or dietary considerations if we are advised before a guest’s arrival date.

Washing machine facilities can be made available if required (see House Rules), but an iron and ironing board is always available for guests to use, along with a hair dryer should the need arise.

We respectfully remind guests that we are not an hotel. We are welcoming you to our home and we ask that you respect this.

We are, however, not self catering and limit ourselves to providing bed and breakfast only. For health and safety reasons, we regret that we can not allow the use of the kitchen. Please ask you to respect this desire.

It is anticipated that our guests will be out, and eat other meals out of the house during the day.

Our guests will be given the use of the shower room, shared with other guests at times.

We are happy for our guests to use the library and the extensive and comprehensive collection of books.

The terrace is our "private garden" but our guests can make use of this in the morning until 10:30, and again in the afternoon after 19:00.

Generalmente Estaremos en residencia durante su estancia y estamos felices de unirse a los huéspedes para el desayuno si lo desean.

Other things to note

As from 12 May 2016, following a Decree by the Junta de Andalusia, we are obliged to add a 10% Tourism Tax to the price of the room. However, this Tax is incorporated and included in the nightly rate quoted.

As part of the same Decree, we are also required to take ID from each occupant of the room, and register this for future inspection.

We would prefer arrival to be after 16:00, but no later than 22:30 please. Departure is by 11:00, but are happy to accommodate other times by prior arrangement.

We have a great Library and guests are welcome to browse and read the volumes that abound.

Weekends are especially important to us and we will give preference to guests who will normally be “out and about” at these times.

In Salobrena there is a house on Carmen St. whose hosts, Mark and John, greet their newly arrived guests at the front door saying, "Welcome Home." Home indeed! Having travelled a bit over the past three decades, I can confidently say that their personal warmth and thoughtful hospitality was exceptional. The house is beautifully decorated, comfortable and perfectly situated between town and beach- all within walking distance. Oh, and the breakfasts! Homemade marmalades on fresh bread with strong, flavorful coffee. Finally, Mark and John encourage guests to read from their personal library of books on various topics such as educational theory, ancient philosophy and the Beat Generation writers. We were personally gifted Mark's reading of Ginsberg's Howl while listening to Miles Davis' 'Kind of Blue' and taking in the sun on the rooftop deck. Yeah. It was a special kind of B&B. The kind that only Mark and John could create, the kind that we will never forget. Thanks guys! We will be back:))

La estancia simplemente perfecta, por localización, la casa y el trato. Tenemos mucha experiencia en Airbnb, lo llevamos usando desde hace mas de 4 años, y ha sido una de las mejores experiencias que hemos tenido. Solemos elegir la casa completa, pero el convivir con John y Mark ha sido lo mejor de la experiencia, los desayunos con vistas a Sierra Nevada, la mermelada hecha en casa y la fabulosa terraza. Recomendado al 100%. En la mejor localización de Salobreña con multitud de restaurantes alrededor. Volveremos y se lo recomendaremos a todos nuestros amigos.

Mark and John extend the warmest Andalucían welcome to you to their lovely home in the heart of the Casco Antiguo of Salobreña.

If you’re looking for calm, tasteful and tranquil surroundings with inspiring views in the heart of the old town: then look no further. Similarly, if you are seeking a bolt hole from which to go touring this beautiful region John and Mark will give all the help and guidance you need and they will set you up with a hearty breakfast with fresh orange juice and ground coffee (or teas) whatever you prefer. Whatever your needs are they will try to meet them.

Their professional pasts means that they can cater for many tastes and personalities, and the one thing you can be sure of is their desire to make your stay as joyous and memorable as possible. John has retired now, but Mark is currently working as a Cultural Attaché, and they are both dedicated to making sure your stay with them is an enjoyable one. You will find the bed linen is fresh and welcoming. The beds are the most comfortable; as are the pillows, and the shower room will more than luxuriate you.

The house is diverse and full of quiet areas, which offer opportunities for reading (there is an extensive library), listening to music, socializing, gazing at the views, lapping up the sun on the roof terrace or just simply relaxing and doing your own thing. Located at the foot of the 10th Century Moorish castle and a stone’s throw from some of the most popular bars and restaurants in the old town, and only a short walk to bakeries, markets, banks, shops and the beaches you have the best of all worlds. The views from the castle are splendid and the culinary treats, which await you, will seduce you to return time and time again.

This region in particularly famous for its seafood, the skewers of pulpo and sardinas cooked over an open wood fire down by the beach, washed down with your favourite tipple, healthily punctuate the plethora of joyous aesthetic distractions, which surround you. Or for vegetarians there is no shortage of gorgeous salads showcasing the plumpness of the local produce. And for meat lovers: you are never far from some of the best jamon iberico in Spain.
