Stroll to the beautiful, calm waters and beaches of Pumicestone Passage and its meandering foreshore park, 5 minutes' drive to Woorim surf beach.
A peaceful, handy location in our self-contained 2-room + small ensuite (bathroom) granny flat with free WiFi.
Windsong is a self-contained granny flat at the front of our house, named for the soft, melodic wind chimes we have hanging in our garden area. Windsong includes a separate bedroom with queen bed ensemble, a small ensuite bathroom with shower, toilet and hand basin, and a living room with TV, DVD and kitchenette. The kitchenette has a bar fridge, microwave, toaster, electric frypan, cutlery, crockery, tea/coffee. There is a BBQ available in the garden and you're welcome to dine in the BBQ shelter, the sitting area in the garden, or the table/chairs inside and outside Windsong.
The house is built from hollow cement blocks which have their own insulating properties and louvres to help with cross breezes, there are also fans and a small heater provided in Windsong for your added convenience.
Windsong is self-contained and exclusively your space for the duration of your stay, you will have your own keys to come and go as you please. There are security screens on the doors and windows, with an outside door leading into each of the living and bedroom areas.
There is undercover parking for one car available in our carport which is a few steps from Windsong's front door. You're welcome to enjoy the garden area and BBQ shelter, we're establishing organic fruit and vegetable gardens so this is a work in progress.
Unless agreed beforehand, please arrive no earlier than 1pm and depart by 10:30am, to allow us time to clean the unit in readiness for the next guests, thankyou!
We are very sorry but Windsong is not suitable for babies or small children.
Interaction with guests
We're happy to leave you with your own space if you prefer privacy, or to sit and chat if you'd like more sociable company.
We can suggest ideas and recommendations on where to eat, what to do, places to see etc in the local and hinterland areas, also further afield.
We've been renovating our house and there are a few things that we're happy to show you if you're interested, eg the "paper bag" floors in our section, the stencilled-muslin floor in Windsong's bedroom, Tasmanian oak "door skin" ceilings and wicking beds in the garden.
Other things to note
Smoking permitted only in the designated section of the garden.
Free Wireless internet.
We're in a peaceful location amongst family homes so enjoy your stay but please keep the noise down.
There is a shelter in the backyard that you're welcome to use, smoking is permitted only in this shelter or in the carport.
No pets allowed as we have many native birds who visit to wander through the garden looking for insects, including a beautiful white-faced heron (we call her Marcia), and sometimes they accept morsels of food. We are also establishing organic fruit and vegetable gardens so hoping to improve the garden environment for insects, lizards and critters in general.
