A completely renovated space. Enjoy the comforts of central air/heat, tankless hot water heater, granite and marble kitchen and baths, and still enjoy the old work charm of original fireplaces, pocket doors, and 12 foot ceilings.
This space is half of an historic house in the Marigny neighborhood close to the Bywater. It combine historic charm while incorporating new details, such as a completely updated kitchen, and marble and granite bathrooms. The kitchen has modern 'leatherized' marble counters and brand new appliances, as well as a huge island with seating. The original wooden floors have been brought back to life from layers and layers of linoleum. The original pocket doors are still in place, however please do not try to open or close the pocket doors.
There is a train track close by and the train may go by several times at night. It is loud.
The bedrooms are well separated from each other and each bedroom has a bathroom nearby for additional privacy (master bedroom with private bath; second bedroom with hall bath).
In the living room is a sofa bed that sleeps 2 -- but remember, it is a sofa bed. :)
The master bathroom has an antique clawfoot tub, which is restored and has shower capabilities. The hall bathroom features a beautiful stone shower.
Both bedrooms open to a side porch that leads you to a large deck and private, fenced-in back yard.
Hot water is fueled by a tankless hot water heater - that means turn on the faucet or shower all the way and give it a few minutes for hot water to kick in.
This space is only minutes away from the French Quarter by bicycle.
There is a hair dryer, coffee and a coffee maker. Upon request there is a pack'n'play and high chair available as well. There is a Sonos speaker in the house (many New Orleans visitors love music!) as well as cable tv.
We have bicycles available for rent.
If you have a large group, consider renting both sides of this double. They are mirror image-- each side has 2 queen bedrooms and a double sleeper sofa.
Remember that this is a double; that means there may be people staying on the other side. Please be respectful by keeping noise to reasonable levels and avoid loud noise and/or music late at night.
You have access to the entire half of a double, plus a generous deck in the back yard. We have a keyless entry - so you are free to come and go at your convenience.
Interaction with guests
We can interact as much or as little as you like; we have a keyless access entry and send your code a day before you arrive, so you can come and go at your convenience. If we are not in town, we have someone that can meet with you in person if needed in order to answer any questions.

If you have a large party, consider renting both sides of our house. With the sofa beds, each side can accommodate 3 couples.

No smoking indoors, and no smoking anywhere near open doors where smoke may waft indoors.
This is a great house to hang out in, but please be respectful of the neighbors. While we all love to party, we ask that you keep music levels reasonable -- sometimes your neighbor is just going to bed at 3am after a long work shift.
Please do NOT try to move the pocket doors -- they are historic and don't move easily.
Making new friends is great, but don't bring them back to our place. No guests of guests are allowed, unless preapproved by us ahead of time.
If you use the sofa bed, remove the sheets and close the bed back up before departing.
Hang up all wet towels. Leave all dirty towels in the shower or tub when you leave. Leave dirty dishes in the dishwasher.
