Alessandro's apartment was a delight to stay at. He made it so easy, right from the booking, with lots of information and directions. It was impeccably clean, very comfortable, spacious and a super comfy bed. Gorgeous views out the window with a peek of the sea! Alessandro made us breakfast everyday, very discreetly as he left it in fridge when we slept in one day. And a gorgeous ice tea to refresh us after time at the beach. Such a thoughtful, helpful host. The location was great, though I did use earplugs to sleep as it's on quite a main road (my husband didn't need them). The bikes are a great bonus to save time and really explore the city. À really cool place to stay, thanks Alessandro.

Alessandro is an outstanding airbnb host. He takes a genuine interest in you. He was our go to person on places to eat and he was spot on each time. Go with his recommendation you won't be disappointed. His daily breakfasts were a delight. Bed was very comfortable and the dressing gowns were a nice treat. Location was perfect as a first timer to Barcelona. We rode the bikes on our last morning to the marina/beach. Well worth doing. If you're a light sleeper pack some earplugs. We highly recommend this accommodation and such good value for the price. Rather than searching for hours I've gone with travellers top reviews and we we not disappointed. This is one of them. So book it and enjoy a wonderful host and fabulous city. Happy shopping to females reading this. I loved it.

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Alessandro's place. He was very kind and welcoming, provided delicious coffee and breakfasts, and offered great suggestions of things to do around Barcelona. The place had an amazing view and was close to so many great locations in the city including La Sagrada Familia, Arc de Triomf, and Ciutadella park. We also biked to Aire Barcelona for relaxing massages and thermal baths. I would definitely stay here next time I'm in Barcelona.

LIVE THE CITY AS A LOCAL DO... here some useful tips:

*Don't orden a beer, order a "CANYA" and you'll get a 25 cl glass of draught beer. When you make a toast, say "CHIN-CHIN" or "SALUT", salut is the top local toast!

* Locals will be thankful if you try to talk some spanish, but you will win their hearts if you do it in Catalan. Say "BON DIA" for goodmorning or "ADEU" for goodbye. Easy way to win their sympathy...if you chose it!!

* Natives love being outside, especially at night. Since smoking has been banned in bars, people tend to gather in front of bars and pubs. Watch your behavior at that time: yelling, singing, drinking alcohol, removing your shirt or pissing in the street can get you a juicy fine.

*Barcelona at night rocks from Monday to Sunday. The nightlife scene is so broad that even locals find it difficult to decide where to go. But locals have suffered several invasions of nightclubs, now they flee tourists and shouting Erasmus student. Remember: Las Ramblas is not only place to go out for a drink or dance!!!

*Spain is well know for his siesta and paella. Although some locals have taken both as a habit, neither, are typical in the region. Try "FIDEUA"!!!

*Here La Sangria is becoming an exclusive drink for teenagers and tourists. If you want to have a cool drink before eating, try the "VERMOUTH". If you want to celebrate, ask for "CAVA" (a catalan sparkling wine of Denominatio of Origin status).
