Location:

This historical house is situated in a quiet part of the Malá Strana quarter (Lesser Town), in Vlašská Street, in the immediate vicinity of the Prague Castle, Strahov Monastery, Lesser Town Square and Charles Bridge. All of the main places of interest are within walking distance. The neighbourhood is a very safe area. The house is half way between American and German embassies. There are also small shops and galleries, restaurants and bars, a police station, a hospital and the largest public park in Prague, the Petrín Hill with an observation tower, which is a smaller copy of Eiffel Tower in Paris, a funicular and a mirror labyrinth, a favourite destination for walks with children. In addition, there is a nice playground nearby.

The house is a place of culture heritage, a listed building, dating back to 14th C, rebuilt in classicistic style. Its first historical name is “At the Cascade”.

The ground floor houses the Eclectic Gallery. Founded in 2002, the gallery specializes in contemporary design jewellery & design glass, historical glass, paintings, graphics and photography, offering also an eclectic selection of antiques (china, glass, jewellery). The wide range of artefacts is supplemented by artistic postcards and cards, including Czech art stamps. The gallery offers a 5% discount to the guests of the house. It is possible to arrange for shipment by Spedia. Open daily 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. (or upon request).

Eva was a fantastic host and she went out of her way to help us out at every turn. The apartment was great, with plenty of space and was very much as described. It was good to have a few amenities provided in the kitchen as well, so we were able to make tea and cook up a great meal. We liked the decorations and artwork as well - it's appropriately called Eclectic House. :) The location was fantastic, too, being a short up-hill stroll to the castle and all of the cool buildings around it. Charles Bridge is only three minutes away (30, if you stop at the very good Irish Pub on the corner), so it's handy to pretty much everywhere.

If you want a true Prague experience in the perfect location, this apartment is for you. It is close to everything you want to see and things you didn't even know you wanted to see. Just step out the door, and one building is more beautiful than the next. A short 10 minute walk to the Charles Bridge, 10 minutes in another direction to Prague Castle, and parks and boat rides just as close. The apartment is in a beautiful old building and is tastefully and comfortably appointed. Eva could not have been more responsive and gracious as the host. I will recommend this apartment to anyone who asks where to stay in Prague, and will certainly stay here on my next visit.

Eva was very communicative with my husband and I and as she was out of town when we arrived, she made arrangements for a helpful neighbor to meet us, show us the place and give us some tips for our stay. (We did meet her in person later). The apartment's location was perfect! It was within easy distance of Charles Bridge, Old Town and the Castle yet was tucked away in Mala Stana"s winding streets so that it was a quiet place to get some rest after seeing the many attributes of the amazing city of Prague. The kitchen appeared to be set up well but, to be honest, I didn't use it as much as I usually would as we wound up mostly eating out. I would definitely stay again!

Eva did a great job communicating in advance of our arrival and helping with directions from the airport. Everything was ready for our arrival and she was very helpful in booking a taxi for our early morning departure. The location was unbeatable. Close to the castle, Petrin, and tram stop. Having small children herself, she was very thoughtful about our kids' needs.

The place was very charming. In a great location just a few short blocks from the hustle and bustle of the Charles bridge. You can be near it all and actually be able to sleep with you windows open! Our host was very accommodating and communicative! Would most definitely stay here again.
