This is a very comfortable, full blown flat on the Anatolian side (Asia) in very close proximity to the Bosphorus Bridge. The neighborhood is nice, quiet and residential, ideal to rest at night after having visited all over in Istanbul.
You can reach all interesting areas on European and Anatolian (Asian) sides both quite easily using public transportation/taxi according to your preference. House manual is very detailed and we will assist you regarding all aspects of your Istanbul experience.
The flat has a separate entrance and you will receive your private key. We offer 6 real beds for 6 persons. Additional 2 persons may use inflatable airbeds in the living room on demand. (Total 8 Persons)
The flat is structured as following:
1xBedroom with french bed (for 2 persons)
2xBedrooms with 2 single beds each. Single beds can be easily arranged to a french bed if needed.
1xLiving Room (LCD TV + Satellite Receiver)
1xKitchen (fully equipped)
1xBathroom with washing machine and dryer, free soap+shampoo for your initial days
There is a heating where you have total control on the temperature. There is no air-conditioning because you wouldn't need this at all (in general nice cool breezes from Bosphorus except maybe for some rare extreme days).
We, as your hosts, are a very outgoing couple and live directly upstairs. We prefer to live in this location because we like to enjoy the safety and tranquility after the liveliness of Istanbul. And we can access all major parts of Istanbul without getting crazy with the famous traffic in the city.
In general, tourists visit Istanbul primarily for downtown where Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar and Taksim resides. These are the most advertised places being all on European side, however Istanbul has more to offer! If you want to experience this interesting city a bit more like natives (this is our preferred way when we travel abroad), this is the right place to stay. There are also plenty of nice areas, restaurants, coastal sceneries and shopping opportunities also on the Anatolian (Asian) side. Why not experience the best of European and Asian sides during your stay? We will be glad to assist you on these. You can find an overview among pictures with annotations on the map.
In case you are here for business purposes, the location will enable you also to access major business centers in Umraniye, Maltepe, Kadikoy, Mecidiyekoy, Sisli, Taksim, Levent, Maslak and Gebze fairly quickly. It takes about 5 minutes with a car to access directly the Bosphorus Bridge to cross continents.
Distance to Public Transportation (Metrobus): 600 meters (or 6 minutes walking time)
Distance to main road: approx. 300 meters
Distance to Beylerbeyi Coastal Area: 1 km
Good connections to Uskudar and Kadikoy from which you can take a boat to the European side.
Taxi will usually arrive in 7 minutes when ordered.
The Metrobus (Burhaniye Mah. Station) will take you anywhere in Istanbul including the Airport.
There is a small children's park next to the building. In summer time, during the day you may hear some children's voices during their play. They will be gone long before the sunset. This is not much disturbing at all and we consider this as a small price for the sake of the safety of our neighborhood.
The only drawback we have to admit is that the location is on a small hill. You will experience a moderate downwards slope on the way to the metrobus by walking. This is not extreme but we wouldn't recommend such a walk to guests with major heart problems. Otherwise this keeps you in shape! :)
The flat is on the ground floor, hence unfortunately you will not see the beautiful Bosphorus scenery directly from your window. But you will be looking to a small garden out of the living room window. If you want to enjoy the scenery you can just walk out of the flat for 10 meters.
There are no pets in the building, but you may see some stray-cats around, which may be somewhat demanding from time to time begging for food. :)
You are also always welcome in our flat upstairs for coffee or a drink.
We did everything possible to make your stay here really hasslefree. If you are travelling especially with a big family or group of friends, this will be the right place for you providing enough space.
ps. A dining table for living room and another one for the kitchen will arrive very soon. A lot of the furniture and equipment is brand new, we recently renovated this flat for airbnb purposes.
We are new starters to Airbnb and we hope you will appreciate our efforts :)
House rules are flexible and just follow "common sense".
We appreciate your good usage of installed furniture and equipment.
Smoking is allowed but please use ashtrays.
This is a residential area, hence wild-partying accompanied by very loud music may disturb neighbours.
In moslem countries it is a tradition not to wear shoes inside the living area. While this is not a must for our guests, we recommend to respect the tradition, as walking right into the flat from the street with shoes might harm your health and hygiene. Slippers will be provided for your convenience anyway. Think about this for your own good :)
We love pets but they are subject to discussion!
