This fully-refurbished apartment for 5 pers is located in Grindelwald Grund, a few minutes away from train to Jungfrau & ski slopes of Männlichen. It's 95m2 and has 1 bathroom and 2 large bedrooms, one with a balcony offering stunning views of the Eiger North Wall. The kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances. High-speed Wifi (20Mb), 48'' Smart TV, cable TV (100+ channels), Playstation 3 and 50+ DVDs also available. Towels and bedsheets are provided and 1 free car park for duration of stay
The apartment is part of a small 2-storey chalet composed of a total of 4 apartments. It is located on the first floor and overlooks the wonderful Eiger Northface as you are sitting in the kitchen, the living room or on the balcony, sipping a good glass of wine or a hot tea.
Ideal for a family or a group of friends, who want to go skiing/hiking or take a trip to either of the Jungfraujoch, Kleine Scheidegg or Männlichen. Transportation to the train or cabins to these are a 300-400m walk away. The centre of town is a 20min-walk uphill.
The apartment has been fully refurbished during Q3-Q4 2015 and offer 95m2 of comfortable and nicely decorated space for you and your party to relax and enjoy some time together in a quiet and inspiring experience. Whether you simply want to sit on the couch and chat or watch TV & films on over 100+ cabled channels and 75+ DVDs (in several languages) or even connect to the world by surfing high-speed wifi internet, we have it all (and it is for free)!
The two bedrooms offer a total of 5 sleeping places. Each bedroom has a double bed (one King Size 180x200cm and one Queen size 160x200cm) and the East-facing bedroom also has a single-bed sofa that offers a tremendous sleeping experience (we tested it ourselves for a week straight!) As men tend to steal/borrow larger parts of the duvet during the night, we opted for single duvets and this way guarantee you that you will not have to share it with your partner! Both bedrooms also offer plenty of storage space so you do not have to live out of your suitcase during your stay.
While sleeping is important to us, eating is even more:-) We love to cook ourselves and can ensure you that the kitchen is well-equipped. Appliances are all new and state-of-the-art. It includes a 200l fridge with a small freezer compartment; a brand new oven and ceramic hob (4x hot plates); a dishwasher; and a combi-microwave. We do not have a coffee machine but a french-press for your coffee in the morning. Make sure you also try either of cheese fondue and raclette while staying with us, we have a set/equipment for both. We obviously have all sort of crockery and cutlery to make cooking easy and sufficient glasses to enjoy wines, water and beer at the same time. Up to 6 people can sit and eat together in the kitchen.
If you are travelling with a baby, that's no problem, we've got your back covered as we are raising now 3 little monsters ourselves. We have one baby cod and a high-chair as well as some cutlery for babies/children for your usage.
We try to maintain our price competitive for the region (about the same per head with 5 people as a hostel room) and "all-inclusive". You will have no surprises during or after your stay and all of the following is included:
Wifi and cable TV
Fresh bed sheets and towels
Parking on premise for one car
Basic ingredients (salt, pepper and oil)
Toilet paper, trash bag and hand soap
Tourism tax (about CHF 4.- / person / night)
As our guests, you will not only have access to the whole wonderful space as described above but also be able to use a heated/lockable ski room located in the basement of the house to store your ski/sport equipment.
In the Summer, you will be able to sit and BBQ in our South-facing quiet backyard and enjoy the view of the Eiger and Mönch mountains while hearing the fresh water fountain running beside you.
There is one free car park on premise included in the price for our guests.
Interaction with guests
We do not live permanently in Grindelwald ourselves and are not always in town when our guests visit the region. However, we are always available via email, phone or the platform chat and have a qualified team of professionals to support us when we are absent. We also have a digital guestbook with all required information to have a comfortable stay in our apartment, which we will share with you when your booking is confirmed.
Other things to note
Our apartment is on the upper floor of a two-storey house and is not equipped with a lift. As such, it is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair access or disabled people.
Our prices include the tourism tax.
We expect our guests to respect our space as if it were their house. We will send you a digital guestbook prior to your stay with tons of information, including more detailed house rules, but in short:
No smoking in the house, but allowed on the balcony
No shoes in the house
Pets only after permission from us
Quiet hours from 10pm-7am (by law)
