Welcome to Bergen! :)

The space

Excellent location and very high standard make this apartment ideal for your stay in Bergen - located literally a five minute walk away from Bryggen (the wharf), Bergen's most famous place (and conveniently, the final bus stop of the airport bus).

We've hosted many fantastic people of all ages and all nationalities – we'd love to have you as our next visitor! Our guests are typically young at heart (but aged up to 78 years old so far!) and eager to explore Bergen by foot, hence seeking a central location.

I'm a very seasoned Airbnb host. See my reviews on my personal Airbnb profile page (click the photo of me below!).

Our guest rooms have comfy beds awaiting you (Width: 140cm, 120cm, 120cm and 120cm respectively), so you can rest well after a day hiking the mountains or tasting local specialities at the fish market.

Our apartment is 90 square meters (1000sq.feet), most of which is accumulated in a big combined living room/kitchen. We have a spacious bathroom, and you get to borrow a towel upon arrival to save you luggage space. Laundry machine is also present and available if you wish to do some washing, and a hair dryer keeps your curls under control.

Our past guests' 3 favourite aspects of our place are:
1) "Its modern, minimalist style – high quality amenities, beautiful interior and selected artwork on the walls."
2) "Location, location, location – walkability and proximity to everything."
3) "The fact that we (the guests) can choose to be social together in the living room or pull back in our bedroom after a long day".

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: Will we get the entire apartment to ourselves?
A: Absolutely!

Q: How do I get to the apartment?
A: If you arrive from the airport; take the airport bus to Bryggen (final stop), then walk 5 minutes.
If you arrive by train, walk 20 minutes through the city center, and here you are. Please do print a map from Airbnb before you get to Bergen. After a confirmed order, you get the address and closer descriptions - please read them carefully.

Q: What do you recommend to do in Bergen?
A: Send me a message, and I'll be more than happy to provide you with information about my favourite attractions, restaurants, bars etc!

Q: Do I need to bring towels or linens?
A: Nope! We provide these things to save you luggage space and hassle. Also, to further un-hassle your travel, you can use our laundry machine, hair dryer and kitchenware as you please.

See you soon!
(PS! Please start your request message with "Howdy, Jacob". That way, I know you've actually read the whole thing through. Thanks!)

It was super easy staying in Jacob's flat - two kids, husband and grandmother in tow. Washing machine & drier came into good use, especially with the amount of rain we had when there. Very central and walking distance from central town with good local restaurants and shops.

If you have the good fortune to land in Bergen, there's really no better place to stay than at Jacob's. Here's the breakdown of our experience: Communication: All communication was promptly addressed, both before and during our stay. Jacob wasn't in town when we were, but a super thorough and thoughtful friend let us in and gave us the tour of the place. This friend was every bit the host -- checking in with us during the stay to make sure things were going well, providing recommendations, answering questions related to our reservation, etc. Jacob also leaves a very helpful guide in the apartment to orient you to the apartment and the city. Both he and his friend had some great recommendations for the city that we were happy to have followed. Jacob's personality came through in every piece of communication; that's not something I specifically look for in an Airbnb, but it was a nice extra that made us feel extra at-home. The apartment: Clean, spacious, comfortable, and more well-equipped than any other Airbnb I've ever seen. It's well-decorated and feels super home-y. It has everything you could possibly need to cook at home, tons of products in the bathroom, a laundry room with all the random things you might need, and enough towels to dry a small army. We really appreciated the available washer/dryer! There were 6 of us–all adults–staying in the apartment for three nights, and we had more than enough space to be comfortable. Just note that European beds are different sizes than American (not a fact I knew beforehand), and the doubles are a bit smaller than an American full. We put a couple in one of the smaller doubles, and two friends shared the bigger double. The bathroom is gigantic. We were initially worried about the 6 of us sharing one bathroom, but it's big enough for multiple people to brush their teeth and get ready at the same time. The location: So close to city center! You're in the thick of it within 10-15 minutes of stepping out the door. It was easy to get to all of the buses and trains that took us on our daily excursions. You also have a nice view of the bay when you're coming and going -- so lovely to see the sunset as you're coming home from a long day of exploring. Something to be aware of, if you're very sensitive to noise: I think the street is fairly quiet, but you can hear a bit of road noise in some of the bedrooms. It's a real treat when the space you're sleeping in is as much a nice part of your travel experience as the fun things you get to do during the day. Thanks Jacob!

Jacob's place was great for our family trip to Bergen. The apartment is spacious and comfortable and is in a quiet part of town while only being a 5-10 minute walk to Bryggen, the Fish Market and restaurants and stores. There were also a couple of restaurants and a small store (not open on Sundays) a couple of blocks away. The communication with Jacob and his friend was great and they were very helpful.
