I stayed with Shiro and Moya for eight weeks this summer, during Yokohama's hottest season. They deserve a thorough review, so I'm going to give them one. First, the hosts are very helpful and friendly. Before I arrived, they sent me directions on how to get to Yokohama from Narita, along with bus timetables. When I arrived at YCAT station, they were kind enough to pick me up. Once there, they pointed me toward the Ishikawacho bus station, to 7-11, and the local supermarket. When I kept bumping my head on doorways (I'm tall) in their traditionally-built Japanese house, they attached padding to the frames so I didn't hurt myself. The house is located in Kashiwaba, an extremely quiet suburb of Yokohama, located about 15 minutes by bus (25 by bike) from Minato Mirai, Landmark Tower, and the Pacifico Yokohama. The neighborhood is green, well-maintained, and definitely more relaxing than neighborhoods like Chojamachi, Hinodecho, or Isazaki. The expensive shops at Motomatchi are a 20-minute walk away, if that's what you like. There is an izakaya across the street and to the left run by the extremely friendly Mizoda brothers that makes the best damn baked fish I have ever had. The house is of traditional Japanese build, which means the doorjambs are extremely low (watch out if you're 6' or over) and space is efficiently used. The kitchen is small but complete. There is a mini-fridge in the room, as well as a multi-piece clothes hanger, which you load and hang on a bar outside your window. The window is right next to the bed, which makes for lovely sleeping when it isn't hellishly hot outside. The hosts speak Japanese, English, and Chinese. They are extremely responsive over AirBnB message, and they take out the trash/clean the apartment regularly. If I have another chance to study Japanese at IUC (preferably not during the summer, dear God, it's too hot), I will most definitely try to book with them again.

I have never felt any inconvenience during my 4 months. At first I was afraid of the strange area, but buses go every 15 minutes, 10 to 12 minutes walk to JR station, Chinatown is 20 minutes walk and motomachi shopping village is 15 minutes walk. It is about 30 minutes by JR to Tokyo, and about 20 minutes by transferring from Yokohama to Keikyu Line. Shiro was also very kind and very grateful. If you are visiting Tokyo, I would highly recommend it.

Shiro and Moya were fantastic and attentive hosts throughout my stay. The house was always clean and well-kept, and Shiro and Moya were always quick to respond to any questions or concerns. The location of the house was convenient to multiple bus lines that went to both Sakuragicho Station and Yokohama Station and about a 15-minute walk from Ishikawacho Station. Additionally, the kitchen was well-stocked, so it was quite easy to cook for myself and save money on my expenses. Overall, this was a fantastic place to stay for my summer in Yokohama. Highly recommended!

Shiro and Moya were awesome hosts! They offered to pick me up at the station and gave me a ride to the sharehouse when I arrived. The house is sizable with everything you need whether it is a short or long stay. After staying in busier parts of Tokyo and Osaka, it was nice to stay in a quiet neighborhood. There is a grocery store nearby as well as a 7-Eleven which made it very convenient to get groceries and money. The station is only a 15 minute walk away. Everything was wonderful and the hosts were incredibly helpful throughout my visit. They even sent a message to me asking if I was okay after a small earthquake hit. I definitely recommend staying here and would like to visit again. =)

Shiro & Moya are very nice and accommodating. They swiftly reply to our queries. If you want to live in a place that is far from noise of city with a budgetray price, we highly recommend you to choose this guest house. Facilities are good, fragrant room and complete supplies. Common area like kitchen, toilet, laundry area are clean. You can use the washing machine for free. You can also use their bicycle for free. Although its far from the main station, still there's a bus going to Sakuragicho sta.. You need to pay ¥220 per trip. The nearest station to guest house is Kashiwaba bus stop (5 minutes away from guest house). Going back home, the bus stops at no. 3 terminal near Sakuragicho sta. Last trip time is around 10pm. Don't miss the last bus, otherwise you will walk 12 minutes from Ishikawacho station. There's a time that we missed the bus and we walk very long in the middle of the night. But it was fun. This guest house is private room for only one person, since we came home very late, I already slept at my bf room. The host dont charge additional fees. Overall comment, the guest house is very nice and budgetary with a very nice host.

Thanks for Hiro and Moya! The place is nice and functional. I was appreciated for the clean room and public spaces. It was my first time to have long-term stay in Japan. Everytime when I had any problem or request, they always replied and help everything at the first moment. I'm glad to make choice to stay in this place. Best B&B ever : )

Hello everyone! We are Shiro and Moya! We love traveling and enjoy Japanese foods.

Our house is in a hill, it takes about 10 minutes to walk from the station including a little bit climbing which will be a small exercise when you live here. The place is very quiet and good for the one has work or study in Japan.
The price is very reasonable and worth to stay because the house serves all facilities you will need (kitchen, shower, Wi-Fi, etc). We welcome backpackers and long-term stayed customers.
