This place is awesome - a real highlight in the middle of Garden Route - very silent, green and friendly place. Will come again someday

We loved staying at Chandre and Helet's cottage house. It's a beautiful light space nestled within a stunning garden. Our hosts were lovely. That perfect blend of inquisitive but not over bearing. If you're coming to Wilderness come stay here. In the morning ask about the cheese cake. You won't be disappointed.

Chandre and Helet are lovely hosts, and their Hoekwil hideaway is paradise for the lover of nature and quiet. The accommodation is in a seperate cottage, with a comfortable bed, a sustainable water and heating system, and a patio with hammock perfect for relaxing on before and after day excursions to the forests and beaches that are only a short drive away. Wilderness is only 10min drive away. The place is also super safe – doors can be left unlocked. There isn't a kitchenette (there is a kettle, tea and coffee), but one is free to use the fridge and kitchen in the main house. One can also braai on the private patio. My partner and I enjoyed our stay immensely.

A love spot, close enough to everything the area has to offer, far enough away to relax and unwind. A great stop.

The view when you wake up in the morning is beautiful. It is safe to sleep with the patio doors open and that is a lovely experience.

Staying in a quaint cottage with a luscious garden, we loved the beautiful and tranquil surroundings of the erf and the area in general. The cottage fits in perfectly with the atmosphere of the garden. The drive to Hoekwil is about 10mins from the Wilderness and it offers views over one of the most scenic spots along the garden route. We enjoyed taking it all in when heading out to explore nearby Sedgefield. As for our hosts, our car broke down on the first day and they went out of their way to help us out. This warm and friendly hospitality continued throughout the weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. It is an excellent choice for those heading up the garden route.

I had a great stay here. Chandre and Helet were very friendly and made it feel just like home. It's a great place to relax in Hoekwil which I also liked a lot. Kept extending stay as such a nice place to be. Thank you both. Michael x
