About this listing

Located adjacent to the famous Crickhowell bridge over the Usk river, Cordell House is a quirky three bedroomed property over 4 floors with beautiful views of the surrounding hillsides and a small courtyard garden. Self catering.

The space

Originally built in 1860 the property was converted to two dwellings in 1990. Cordell House has been extensively refurbished to a high standard. We love the quirky shape of the rooms and the stunning views and and have aimed to create a contemporary space that is a home from home.

Guest access

The whole house and courtyard garden will be available for the use of guests.

Interaction with guests

Although we are offering accommodation on a self catering basis we live nearby and are always happy to help in anyway. You will be greeted personally and shown the facilities. Your welcome pack will include the essentials such as milk, bread, butter, preserves etc all locally sourced.

Other things to note

There is parking for 2 cars alongside the property. The nearest pub is just across the road and the fabulous, independent shops of Crickhowell are just a short walk away.

I rented Gwen's place for some relatives to stay in for our wedding in Crickhowell. They enjoyed their stay and it was exactly what we were looking for. Lovely home with lots of space and very good location. Gwen was a great host and I would recommend her home for a future stay.

Nicely decorated & spotlessly clean accommodation in a beautiful spot with everything you could need for a short break or a slightly longer one. Gwen was very welcoming when we arrived and the information given before our stay was clear and helpful. We would recommend this place to family & friends and will hopefully look to stay again some tone in the future

Cordell House was perfect. Was greeted by Gwen on arrival and had a lovely welcome hamper. The house was very clean and tidy and the space was ideal for our family of 5. It was great to be within walking distance to several pubs and restaurants and a nice trail along the river. We enjoyed our time in Crickhowell.

This is a really beautiful house with lovely furnishings, comfy beds and top quality bed linen and towels. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. The crockery and cutlery are all a matching set and everything is new. Just be aware that the house is on 4 floors and the spiral stairs may be a problem for elderly people or small children.

We arrived later than expected but Gwen was there waiting for us with the heating on kettle boiled and a warm smile with lots of time to show us around the house explaining everything and also lots of advice on the local area and shops. The house was excelente with everything we needed including a cot for our grandson . The welcome hamper that was left for us was wonderful and the welsh cakes were excellent I can highly recommend this property and we will not hesitate to return in the future.

We had a great little late August stay in the lovely Cordell House just before the end of the summer holidays. The distinctive house had everything we needed for a comfy few days - from wifi to the welcome hamper - and Crickhowell is a perfect base from which to explore the Brecons. Gwen and Mike were excellent hosts, even arranging storage for our bikes and kindly posting back something we left behind. Thanks again!

Gwen was an excellent host and very accommodating considering our plans seemed to change from minute to minute! The house location was excellent, in a lovely part of Crickhowell down by the river. Our guests loved the house and would visit again. Thank you!
