Atlanta is a warm hearted person and her apt is really great. Our last host canceled the reservation on our way to New York City. With airbnb coupon, we found Atlanta really quickly and luckily. The apt is in queens Astoria, close to N and Q line. The neighborhood has many great …
THIS IS NOT IN LONG ISLAND CITY. The listing is incredibly inaccurately marked on AirBNB’s rendered map, and what is generally considered Long Island City by New Yorkers. Her apartment is actually closer to the below address. This was very frustrating for us and we didn’t have…
Response from Atlanta:
I'm sorry you had such a terrible stay, Antony. The typical NYC apartment does indeed have heating pipes in bathrooms + the radiators DO get hot. Common sense you tell you that things that are hot shouldn't be touched. Radiators typically hiss, rather than beep, so your issue of beeping radiators must have come from your alarm. Our household IS one that observes Asian culture + as such, we don't wear shoes in the rest of the apartment. ALL guests are asked to remove them at the door, which is why the hallway has shoes there. Sadly, you didn't mention any of the things that could have been helped while you were staying. The photos very clearly show the bathroom, living room, bedrooms + common areas of the apartment. I'm not sure of why you were so surprised at the size of a NYC apartment. As for the 'religious insignia' in the apartment, artwork is customary when decorating. It's a shame it made you feel uncomfortable. We've never had problems with the sink or tub draining, so perhaps your hair in the drain caused the problem? My roommate + I have no issues whatsoever. The lease, my mail + all other documents with regard to the address of our apartment list both Long Island City + Astoria. The link you left is incorrect with regard to the location. The apartment is on 35th street near Broadway. As city boundaries have moved, both are accurate. I'm also very sorry that you found the bathroom to be so small + uncomfortable. My boyfriend is 6'6 + a bit larger than you + seems to have no problem with the space. It's really a shame that you + your girlfriend appeared pleased with the apartment + then left the kitchen unkempt after your stay + this review rather than try to resolve your dissatisfaction with the location.
