Simply stunning...a definite highlight of our east coast trip! Paul was a great host who took us on a tour of the house and explained all the history of the place. We used the bbq and walked to the beach for a lovely windy sunset picnic. Highly recommended for Lucy Maud Montgomery fans or not!

Really really good place, clean and cosy. Freshly renovated, perhaps for some people a bit on the high end but ABSOLUTELY worth it!

The Montgomery Inn at Ingleside is a lovingly, tastefully and beautifully restored historic home. For the Lucy Maud Montgomery reader it is the epicentre of all the places that inspired the locations in her books. The house has been restored with all modern conveniences while retaining many of the items from yesteryears including a 250 year old bookshelf! I loved the big kitchen that is stocked with all the appliances for one to cook by themselves. Paul is a wonderful host and is ever ready to provide anything that can make a stay more comfortable. He is also ready to share all the (URL HIDDEN) connected to the home and the places around - Anne world related. It is the must stay place for an Anne Fan. Even if you aren't familiar with the books, this is a beautiful home with sea at the back, fields on one side, a small clump of trees on the other, and a lake across the road. Sit down with a book under the trees in front, or on the front porch - the tweeting birds will keep you company. Or relax on the newly built deck at the back and you will hear the sea. This house gave me the opportunity to be in the midst of the PEI world, quite away from the touristy hotels/cottages, but still within a short driving distance of the bigger towns.

Montgomery Inn at Ingleside was the inspiration for the Ingleside series of books that followed Anne of Green Gables. Lucy Maud Montgomery's Grandfather was one of PEI's first senators, he was my Great Great Grandfather. He had this house built in 1877 and is the setting for your stay. 5 Bedrooms with private bathrooms and 2 rooms that share a bathroom.
