We do not accept stag/hen parties or parties of under 25's. Chinley is a quiet village and ideal for family holidays - quiet time after 10. Pets are welcome with agreement with the owners but we would ask they not be allowed on the furniture, upstairs or on the carpeted areas. Most of the downstairs is oak floors and tiles, which is ideal for dogs. All damage/breakages must be paid for.

Forge Cottage was the perfect place for us to stay. The property was beautifully presented, but retained the character of a Peak District cottage. It was very spacious, with a great layout. As a host Terry was exceptional. We have booked many places over the years and all hosts have been good, but Terry was the best we have had. When we arrived after numerous flights she had left a lovely welcome in terms of bread, cheese platter, wine and beer - just what we needed! She also followed up an issue with rail fairs that resulted in us getting a refund which was much appreciated. A very good package of local attractions (such as day trips, serious walks and local pubs/restaurants) was also provided. She also was very interested in us as people and was lovely to talk to. I would strongly recommend staying at Forge Cottage to anyone who enjoys the Peak District and wants a character house to stay in.

A great base from which to explore the Peak District with pleasant walks right on your doorstep. The house was exactly as described and what sets Terry apart is the thoughtful little extras she provides. We all appreciated the Stilton and Brie and our dog loved his treats. A great house in a great location perfect for big families!

We booked to stay at Forge Cottage to celebrate my dads 70th birthday. Me and my family (8in total) had the best time. Terri was a great host and from the minute I confirmed the booking she sent loads of extra info, was always quick to respond to my emails and went that extra mile by putting up celebratory balloons and banners that I posted to her. She also left us a bottle of bubbly and some welcome cheese, bread and brownies. Couldn't have asked for more. My family all loved the house and the setting was perfect. Amazing, would definitely return. Thanks to a Terri for everything :-)

Such a lovely house, great location. Terri was a fabulous host and went out of her way to welcome us and make us feel at home. We did some nice walks from the house and went further afield for longer days out. The house was very comfortable and we loved our stay.

My friends and I attended a wedding at Eyam Hall and had the cottage for the weekend. We loved it! House was huge and Terri was a great host. She left us treats and breakfast things to set us off which was a lovely surprise. She was also very good at communicating both before and during our stay. (Especially helpful were her documents advising on local walks/taxis/food places before arriving) The house has plenty of room for everyone and is well located - Morrisons is not far and Chapel en le Frith nearby had some livelier bars if you fancy a drink/dance. My boyfriend and I visited Mam Tor which isn't far by car which was a lovely little route for anyone who likes a walk. Highly recommend staying at Terri's place, what a lovely lady and house!
