Come and stay in a gorgeous, contemporary Victorian home with an oriental garden and amazing kitchen diner for your breakfasts. Your own beautiful ensuite double room with king size bed, facing the garden, situated in a quiet street a short walk away from buzzing Brixton.

The space

Come and stay in a large, contemporary designed Victorian home with a beautiful garden and your own ensuite double room, situated in a quiet street just a 12 minute walk from Brixton with its amazing cafes and bustling market.

The room is light and peaceful, overlooking our garden. It is on its own floor so has a more private feel than the other rooms. It has its own fantastic ensuite bathroom, with a lovely strong shower. Please be aware that there is no door between the bathroom and bedroom, though a separating screen is available on request.

We have a large contemporary kitchen and dining room for your use at breakfast. We provide cereals, bread and jams and teas and coffee. There is also a tea station in your room.

We also have other rooms available in the house - just click on my photo on the "Your Host" section to see details of my other listings.

Guest access

As well as your room, you will have access to the kitchen, dining area and garden in the mornings. There is plenty of space in the room for your clothes and bags, and space can be made available for you to store your breakfast things in the kitchen. It is worth noting there will probably be some other Airbnb guests staying in the other rooms. This never usually causes issues, as the house is big enough to allow space for everyone, but if the noise of other guests does bother you, do let me know so I can ensure all guests are behave considerately.

Interaction with guests

Please note that there is a dog and cat resident in the house!

This is a great spot with great hosts. Brixton is a really interesting area and definitely recommended as a jumping off point for exploring London. You can get anywhere you like very easily by public transit, but the area feels less touristy than other parts.

Great location in a suburban Brixton Street, close to underground, buses, pubs, restaurants and cafes. We had a great time here while in London. Lovely home with plenty of space and a happy dog to greet you every time you open the front door.

Ryan’s place is comfortable, less than 10mins walk to the bus stop for the trip to town and 15mins wall to Brixton Underground. The place is in a quiet road off the busy main Brixton road. Great stay! Thanks for hosting us and allowing us to leave our baggage before our trip to the airport. Cheers!

Whilst this house in located on a nice quiet road not far from Brixton, it isn't a particularly quiet home. We were woken up multiple times during the night to the cat fighting and hissing and first thing in the morning when the hosts young daughter got up and started playing with the dog. I'm sure sound wouldn't travel quite as much if there weren't exposed wooden floorboards throughout. The sink in our ensuite was broken and not repaired before our departure. We found the rule that the internet was off from 11pm-6am quite strange.

Response from Ryan:
We are sorry that you didn't find it to your satisfaction. We did our best to address your concerns as soon as you said, which were numerous. We tried to fix the sink, but it being weekend it was not possible to buy the correct tool before Monday. We made sure the leak was as small as possible and put a bucket under to minimise the disturbance until we could fix it. And we are sorry the dog and cat made noise during the nights of your stay, it doesn't often happen as you can see from the multiple reviews we've had from other guests. It did say that the internet was off in the information folder in your room, but it wasn't actually off at any point as it's something we've changed so you would of found it working if you had tried. The reason originally to have it off during the night is for health, but due to people's preference to have it on we leave it on all the time, despite our preference.

We're Ryan and Olivia and we co-host the house. Ryan will be your main contact for the bookings, but we are both available to help you feel at home during your stay. Here's some info about us.

Ryan - I am an actor, teacher and theatre/filmmaker. I am also currently studying on a Qigong training programme in London. I have lived in the house for nearly ten years now with my wife Elisa, daughter Serena (four) and newborn son. Also part of the family are dog Simone, zen cat Jack, plus a trio of terrapins and a handful of goldfish in the garden pond. Its an ecosystem in its own right! As a family we split our time between Bogota, Colombia and London and whenever we are out of town our housemate Olivia takes care of things here. We have put a lot of time and love into refurbishing and decorating the house recently, and have become very houseproud. It is such a pleasure for us to share it with our guests - and look forward to hosting you. Having lived here for over 20 years, I know the area very well (as well as London more widely) so if you have any questions at all I will be happy to help.

Olivia (co-host) - I am an actress, theatre director, yoga teacher and sometime clown! I live in the house and help out with hosting airbnb guests, especially when Ryan and Elisa are away in Colombia. I'm a fan of walking in parks and enjoying the city. Lately I've been travelling a lot with different creative projects so am enjoying putting some roots down in this beautiful home. If you'd like advice on places to go and things to do I will do my best to give it. If you already know and just need a nice environment to come back to at the end of the day, thats fine too. Either way, I'd like you to feel comfortable and at home here. Its a really peaceful place to be- I'm sure you will love it as much as I do, as well as the menagerie of wonderful animals!
