Alessandra ( the agent for the villa) was very pleasant and went out of her way to coordinate the booking into two transactions so I could use my two AirBnB coupons/credits we had (can only use one coupon/credit per booking).
The villa is probably in the most upscale part of the island, about a 7-10 minute drive to Palm Beach area (North part of the island near the California light house and Arashi beach). Arashi beach was a 5 minute drive, probably my favourite beach, not as big as Eagle beach or Palm beach, but still quite large and crystal clear waters and white sand, I am told where the locals go. I can see why. Just beautiful!
Villa is in a very secure and safe area, (the elite of the island really) not only is the property gated, but so is the community with 24/7 security. Very private and quiet, but there are no restaurants or stores in walking distance, so you definitely will need to rent a car. We liked this because we could tour the island and come and go as we pleased. The property was under going some construction, so this was a minor distraction with the noise etc, but not major. The facilities and owners more than made up for this small downfall, they were very hospitable and welcoming. Felt like family really. Glenda (owner) was so pleasant and always made sure we had everything we needed. She even had us over for dinner one night and cooked us an amazing meal with champagne and wine and gourmet deserts. Definitely unexpected! Her husband, even at 70 years old, climbed some palm trees on their property and cut us fresh coconuts. Fantastic! There was staff present to clean and change towels, etc. No wifi though, they were working on getting it installed, Owner went out of her way to drive us to Setar (the local carrier) to buy us a pre-paid sim card for our phone to have LTE coverage for data, so we just used our hotspot on our phone for other devices. Bed was super comfortable! ;) Egyptian cotton and we slept like a baby! We ate out most of the time, we liked The Flying Fishbone the best, not only for the mazing experience of eating with your feet in the water, but the food was probably the best we had in our entire trip. The ceviche was to die for, HUGE bowl, Peruvian style with oranges, etc, with a hint of hot peppers, incredible! The Filet Mignon (Tenderloin) was HUGE and very, very tender. Incredible! They had a nice list of single malts to select from and all at very reasonable prices I may add. Only negative, far drive... 20min South of airport, about 40min from Palm beach. If you want local food and experience fresh fish, try Zeerover, same area as FFB, but completely different experience, not fine dining, but just the way the locals eat, right on the water.
