Our home is located on the slopes of Hualalai in the cool elevation of 1000 feet. The gardens are lush and the views are breathtaking. Very private.

The space

This property is an amazing old coffee plantation from the 50's on 11 acres of tropical land with 180 degree breathtaking ocean views.

You will be renting one of three houses on this property. The main part of this house has one bedroom, which sleeps 2, with an additional queen sized sofa bed in the living room. There is one bathroom in the main house, a full kitchen, dining room and an amazing porch to enjoy the views. One of the other houses on the property is an empty family home. The caretaker lives in the third home on the property. Even though there are multiple houses on the property you still have a sense of privacy and solitude.

This property is located 1,000ft up on on the slopes of Hualalai about 10 min south of Kailua-Kona. We are about one and a half miles from the artist town of Holualoa, which has art galleries, restaurants and shops. Also in this neighborhood are multiple coffee plantations often with free tours and coffee tastings. There are many beaches and snorkeling areas to explore within 20 min from the house while you still have all the conveniences of being close to the shops, grocery stores, restaurants and night life of Kailua-Kona!

This is the perfect place to get away from it all!

Guest access

Guests have access to all the grounds surrounding the house.

Interaction with guests

My son is available for questions and information and tours of the grounds if you wish. He has a full time job but is on property in the evenings.

Fairy-tale setting. Lush green tropical setting (and therefore local fauna - there are bugs, geckos etc). Excellent communication with Lolly and Nick. Very private and spacious. Insane views!

If you wish a secluded, old Hawaiian home for your stay, this is the place. Lolly was very available for any reason. Lovely, old plantation type home with lots of vegetation and great views of the Pacific.

We absolutely love this place. It's a true old school Hawaiian home, a million miles from the big resort feel. Very private and secluded. We spent most of our time out on the lanai, there was just so much to see. It was actually hard to leave here each day to go explore the rest of the island, so some days we just didn't. There is a very friendly grey cat, Mana, if you call, he'll come running, he loves his people time. The grounds are beautiful, giant trees, lava rock walls, all 100% authentic Hawaiian, rich with the history of the people who lived here. The home is completely stocked, everything we needed we found and more. Tons of kitchen supplies, icemaker in the fridge. Brand new washer and dryer. Great water pressure in the shower, plenty of towels and stuff. Beach gear. No stairs to navigate. Park right up front on the grass. No need to ever lock anything. Gabriel lives right next door, he's a rock solid dude, there if you need anything and totally respectful of your space. If you're looking to get away from the shiny new polished and over sanitized norm, this is it. Did I say we love this place?

We had an amazing time up at Lolly's house in Holualoa. The house is so peaceful, you feel like you're in your own little world. The front is a lush garden of trees and tropical plants, and the back deck has a great view of the oceanside. It's so lovely. We made good use of the kitchen and grill and mostly ate at home enjoying one of the outdoor spaces. Amazing spot!

Lolly and Gabe, thanks for having us @your beautifll property. This was my dream to live house like that. Waiking up with birds singing , having coffee at patio with amazing ocean view. At night stars above. So quiet, I love the path from the street to the house, far enough not hearing any car noise, no much traffic to start with. Also love the Friendly kittys visit us every day. We loved pet them in the patio. Thank you very much for this oppotunity that I've dreamed. Love Yoshino and Masumi

The title says it all, and you will sunsets just like the picture from the comfort of your deck overlooking an amazing view. Lolly's hideaway is comfortable, secluded, yet shopping, dining, and most importantly, beaches are a short driving distance off. The grounds are pleasant with lots of vegetation, a rich history, and a friendly 4 legged visitor (house rules please). Up the road is the little artist village of Holualoa with a fine cafe and art shops to explore. If you want a pleasant retreat and a home base to explore the Big Island, book at Lolly's if she has an opening. Aloha.

I am the host of my family's estate, I am fifth generation born and raised in the islands whose family originally came here as whalers. A caretaker lives on the property. He enjoys his privacy and gives you yours, although he is always available if you have any questions or want suggestions on things to do in the islands, etc.
