This family run “forest” guest house under big trees and in the middle of a lush, green, natural garden. Birds, butterflies, fish, horses, dogs, bugs, also share this environment with us humans.

The space

The space is located in Sharnga community, one of the 150 settlements in Auroville. Sharnga community was started by Claude and Bernard on a barren land in 1976, first as a farm then as a stud farm having up to 40 horses.

In 1992, when it was time to evolve and change once again, the horse sheds were transformed into rooms to welcome new comers into Auroville and guests as a co project of Bernard and Sigrid.

Guest access

Guests have access to the rooms, the dining area, lounge and the exotic and lush garden with ponds, etc.

Interaction with guests

I will be at the place with my father and we would love to meet you when you are here and extend our courtesies.

The property was lovely. Kripa was an excellent host and made it a point to get us a smooth check in. The food was good. The horses, peacocks, dogs - loved it. You can relax, read, roam around this place.

The place is serene and beautiful!!! The food was simple, tasty and healthy. The hosts were helpful and pleasant always. Thanks to Soumya...you made our trip special. The power back up definitely needs to be in place. We would have preferred one more bathroom for a 5 guest accommodation. Overall amazing experience!!! Value for money...

Dear Sapna, Thank you for your feedback, and we are very happy you had a good stay with us. Concerning the power back up, we have a UPS/ Uninterrupted Power System for all the lights of the guest house, and we have a generator for back up in case of TNEB power failure. It just happened that this weekend, due to the rain, TNEB power failure happened all night, and we had a generator breakdown that we could not fix in the night. We organised a mechanic and fixed things only during the day, the next morning. These are all behind the scene problems that may arise that are out of our control, so we hope you will understand, and if you come back and stay with us, hopefully you (and us) will not face the same issue. Looking forard to having you with us again, Best regards, Kripa

It was delightful stay at Sharnga. The place is amazing, with a lot of greenery and freshness around. The hosts are very nice. In fact they came to pick us when we lost our way to the placed. They explained everything in and around the place, quickly making us feel at home. The pool is small is yet cozy for a cool dip. The food was homely and the kids too loved it. There are some friendly dogs running around. No harm if you love dogs. I have to mention this is one place you would love to visit again and again. I definitely would.
