17th century Chateau within a large estate that features woods, fields, meadows, and three lakes. It is the center of the Beaulieu estate and located on the northern slope of a small valley. Guests have access to the stunning infinity pool and enjoy privacy in an enclosed large garden behind the Chateau. The view across the courtyard down into the valley is truly magnificent.

The space

The picturesque Chateau is from the 17th century and surrounded by a beautiful courtyard which is entered through majestic railings and wrought iron gates. The main entrance and wooden staircase boast original features and rustic elegance of the architecture of the era. These traits follow through the whole of the Chateau, with wooden floors and beams, stone flooring, magnificent fireplaces, vintage bathroom and kitchen fittings, and eclectic furniture.

Guest access

Guests staying in the Chateau have privacy in the enclosed garden. They also have access to the entire estate including its lovely walks, the lake with its rowing boat, the tennis court, and of course the stunning infinity swimming pool. Note: the tennis court is not of a professional standard.

We were looking for a place in the countryside of southwest France that would comfortably house our extended nuclear family of seven, ages 8 to 75, and would have a pool. The search process led us to this wonderful, spacious place, an old family chateau, where we found a great pool, a lake with a boat, four great bedrooms--great beds!--with bathrooms, all on the second floor with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. On the main floor, we had access to a very large dining room with huge fireplace, a second large, but wood-paneled room for gaming, conversing, reading, or, in our case, a delightful impromptu guitar-vocal recital by two guests! Finally, the kitchen came very well equipped with almost anything you might wish...very comfortable with a view onto...and direct access to an herb-rose garden surrounded by the very large backyard. The resident owners and support staff. We're totally unobtrusive but there to help, if needed. This was a wonderful visit and well worth the reasonable cost!!

The Logis is a magical place to stay! With its grand fireplaces, tall ceilings and big windows that look out onto stunning countryside and a tree lined avenue that leads to an enchanted lake with a little row boat to explore, this place feels nobel! The Logis (chateau) is grandiose in scale, we lit fires in the enormous fireplaces the first week we were there, as the weather was a little chilly, sitting beside a roaring fire, red wine in hand felt like we were on a film set. When the sun made an appearance the following week we didn't move from the wonderful pool area, very beautifully done, lots of wooden loungers and white parasols overlooking the pool and fields beyond. Lots of fun inflatables (teen's took advantage of these!) and it has a bar, complete with ice machine, and some cold beers in the fridge, I mean what more can you ask for? Sophie and Brian are the perfect hosts, really lovely and interesting people. We cannot recommend this extraordinary place enough. P.S. best equipped kitchen ever too!!!

Beaulieu is a most stunning place to stay, and all six of us had an unforgettable week! The house is exquisite both inside and out, and has the feel of an ancestral home, which being privatley owned for several generations - it is. The inside is huge and airy with wood panelling , massive antique fireplaces, period furniture, a dining room which is big enough to play badminton in ( Don't!) Huge antique cabinets open to reveal many suprises, sometimes dining crockery for a party of 20, sometimes more board games than I knew existed. The kitchen is large and quirky, with a stainless steel range cooker and fabulous 1960's cupboards in a moss colour Formica - I love it. Upstairs the dream goes on with big loftly bedrooms with polished original dark wood floors, charming chairs and tables, and comfortable beds. The bathrooms are refreshingly off -beat , some with 1960 baths and basins in daring colours. Anywhere else this might raise an eye brow - but in this fantastic house it is just part of it's unselfconsious charm. Outside large grounds surround you with it's own central tree lined avenue , hazy feilds, a good tennis court, patches of woodland, a lake complete with small rowing boat for our use, the water teeming with fish, the air with dragonflies, while kingfishers watch from trees. In the afternoon we would swim in the immaculate infinity swimming pool and admire the unspoilt views across the country side as our heads bobbed in the water. The pool was deliciously clean , blue ,and refreshing. We spent the long warm evenings grouped around the garden table, laughing, sipping cool drinks and enjoying the aroma of our dinner drifting out from the kitchen.
