Perfect place to have your homebase in Port Renfrew. Close to Botanical Beach, Avatar Grove, and the other beaches along the coast. 2 minute walk to food if you want to go out to eat. Great views of the water and the sunset on the neighborhood pier.

We had a great stay here. A shack in the woods is cozy and provided a great home base for our ventures around the area. We loved the fire pit and being able to have our doggos with us :) clean and tidy. The area was quiet too, which was really nice.

Response from Karen:
Amy, you are sweet! Thank you for letting me know about the oven mitt and ice tray situation. That was very thoughtful of you to try to replace them. Don't worry at all! :)

A stay in Port Renfrew on the western coast of Vancouver Island is wonderful, with Botanical Beach a highlight. Staying in Karen's place was very comfortable, with a well stocked kitchen for our cooking needs. Clean and cozy. And a real plus for us with our beagle Sadie able to stay there too! The only problem we had was not being able to contact Karen either by email or phone, and she was not there to greet us when we arrived. A nice place at a good price - we highly recommend it.

Response from Karen:
Dear Annie I am so glad that you, your husband and beagle, Sadie had a cozy time at the cottage. I am sorry that you didn't understand by my "welcome letter" that I wouldn't be there to greet you. I live in Victoria and the cottage is set up for you to know where the key is, and asking for the return of the key to be placed in same spot. I have my Victoria phone number, Port Renfrew phone number and email in the book in the cottage that is there for you to read for information :) I sent you an email before you arrived, advising you of the snow conditions. I am not sure why the email came back as expired? Something odd must have happened with Airbnb that you didn't get mine and I didn't get yours. We also have a cottage there however I was having problems with my back and was in bed for 2 weeks! I hope you visit again next February. If you do, I will make an effort to greet you :) Sincerely, Karen Felske "A Shack In The Woods"

I am a wife and mother of three adult children and 2 pugs. My husband and I started coming out to Port Renfrew for the world renowned salmon and halibut fishing 6 years ago. We loved Port Renfrew so much that we bought our first cottage 4 years ago. There are so many things to do here. From beachcombing to hiking the Ancient forests. The possibilities are endless!
I invite you to A Shack In The Woods to experience Port Renfrew to the fullest.

Cheers, Karen
