We loved Julia's apartment and she was the perfect host. A gorgeous loft on the 6th floor with almost 360-degree windows, the apartment is right in the middle of the best neighborhood in Paris with some great views and everything you'd want out of a Parisian visit at your fingertips. Julia was a great host, with a flexible check in/out, all the amenities she advertised and a trendy and clean apartment. It was everything we could have asked for and she went above and beyond making sure our stay was perfect. There are countless restaurants, bakeries and wine bars within walking distance, tons of shops and galleries nearby, and the metro is just a 5 minute walk away. Most of the main tourist attractions are reasonably close as well. If Paris didn't have so much to offer, you could use the apartment as a home base and never stray more than a few hundred yards in any direction, and you'd have a great trip!

We loved our stay in Julia's apartment. Contrarily to many places on Airbnb, this is not a rental managed by a real estate agency in disguise. The place is lovely, in one of our favorite neighborhood (we lived 31 years in Paris...). It has three orientations (E, W, N), a lot of light, and one of the best view you can expect. One can actually see more bell towers than in any other loft I visited: St Germain, Notre Dame, St Chapelle, Sacré Coeur etc! Julia was very helpful, communicated very well. We had a couple of small glitches, but quite insignificant, the kind of thing you would have at your own home (an elevator malfunction after a very heavy rain for instance). We would love to stay there again on our next trip to Paris.

I have been staying in rental apartments for many years with great success. I am also extremely generous in giving this apartment 4 stars, since the entire experience should be taken into account. This is a lovely apartment, with plenty of space for two people. My mom and I had enough space to occasionally have some private space. The apartment is centrally located, near restaurants, shops, and many great attractions. It is fairly quiet with the windows closed, and the only thing that would wake us up is the loud garbage truck early in the morning. But that is the beauty of Paris, we did not mind. The neighbors were quiet, and the neighborhood is not a party scene. The apartment is located on the sixth floor, the elevator only goes to the fifth floor. To get to the apartment one must go up 15 stairs on a circular staircase. This was not a problem, a hassle when lugging the luggage as we were leaving, but not a big deal otherwise. But, it should be something that needs to be mentioned in the apartment description, and it is not. The problem was that for most of our stay there was no WiFi in the apartment. The owner tried to rectify the situation by calling the internet company but it did not work. WiFi is extremely important while on vacation in a foreign city, especially for Americans, our cell phone data is very expensive. So, at first I used all the data I had purchased from my U.S. cell phone provider and then I started to incur charges for going over. I simply had no other choice. I started to go to Starbucks, 10 minutes away, in the morning to plan out the day while using their free internet. That was not how I wanted to spend my mornings. I finally ended up getting a SIM card, which was another extra cost, and inconvenient, as now I had to contact everyone back home to let them know that my phone number has changed and my U.S. number will no longer be working. Throughout all of this the owner would tell me that she is trying, but for two days she did not respond to my daily email and phone call. The internet came back for the last 3 or so days of our stay. Two and a half days prior to our leaving the owner emailed and asked what time we will be checking out, and said that she felt badly about the internet issue and that we would try to come to some sort of an arrangement, to maybe compensate me in some way for the extra costs I had. And that was the end of our communication. She never responded to any of my emails, phone calls, nothing. So, for two days I had no idea how I am to leave the apartment, if she will be there on time, before I have to leave for the airport. That,...
