Olger made us feel very welcome in his home. The description of his place was great. The view from his home is stunning. His home is beautiful and nicely decorated. Probably not a location to go with little children, but we loved it! The drive to the home from San Jose was about 1 hr and 1/2 due to bad traffic in the city. The drive was very pretty, you were able to see the a lot of the country side. Olger was helpful in giving us directions of how to get to his home, how to go to Poas Volcano and to go to La Paz waterfall. Poas Volcano was only 25 minutes from his home. La Paz Waterfall was only about 30 minutes or so from his home as well. The breakfasts he made were delicious. The first morning he made gallos pinto, a typical Costa Rican breakfast. Each morning he also had fresh fruit. We rented a car to drive to his location and there was a safe location to park the car. We really enjoyed staying in his home and would definitely go back again!

Beautiful home with great view of the Central Valley. Convenient to the Poas Volcano and not far from the international airport. Friendly host who gave us good advice for driving to our next destination. Oh, and did we mention that Olger is a great cook?

Very nice house on Poas mountain close to volcano and la Paz waterfall. Olger was an excellent host, made us feel very welcome, cooked us a delicious breakfast which we ate on the terrace with fantastic views, he helped out by drawing us a map and made recommendations for were to eat dinner near by. Would highly recommend staying here.

We decided to stay with Olger off the cuff on and unbooked night of our trip. He graciously accepted our reservation on short notice. He was in communication with us to ensure we got there in good shape. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by his caretaker Miralda whose pleasance and warmth crossed all language barriers. The home is beautiful and well kept with a nicely curated art collection that we found interesting. The Italian restaurant nearby that Olger recommended really hit the spot after a long day on the road. the provided breakfast was a joy to take on the veranda. All the reviews are true!

Olger is a charming and gracious host. We would have liked to have spent more time with him, but circumstances (work and family obligations) prevented him from doing so. Still, he was extremely accommodating. Olger made us delicious breakfasts on both mornings during our stay. The house is beautiful, comfortable and ideally situated not far from the airport, Poas Volcano, coffee tours, and La Paz Waterfall Gardens (highly recommended!). Aside from a small store down the street, there is not much in the surrounding neighborhood. But it is a short drive, walk or bus ride from plenty of things, including some very nice restaurants and sodas. The only problem we had was in finding the house. This was not Olger's fault, but rather due to the Costa Rican custom of not relying on street/road numbers and house addresses. In this regard, Olger's sons were very helpful in providing assistance. We also drafted a set of directions for Olger that he may use in the future. Overall, we highly recommend staying with Olger!

Olger was very helpful and flexible in explaining us how to find his place and meeting us late in the evening (our plane was late). The house is simply beautiful, very nicely decorated and has a great view to the valley below. Last but not least, Olger is an amazing chef! On our first morning in CR he cooked us traditional gallo pinto. The next morning - delicious pancakes! Thank you, Olger, for a warm stay!

Friends have considered me charming, entertaining and a good laugh. I consider myself a joyful and happy person. I love opening my doors to new people and enjoy cooking. I work flexible hours therefore I do find myself available to dedicate more time to my guests if needing assistance or direction.
