The space

Close to everything that's great about Great Barrington and the Berkshires. Stay within a 5 minute walk to Main Street Great Barrington in a 125 year old classic 3-bedroom Folk Victorian.

This simply furnished house from 1890 sleeps 6 comfortably. The first floor has an older kitchen, living room, dining room and bathroom (with shower); second floor has three bedrooms and a bathroom (with a clawfoot tub).

The middle bedroom has a queen bed and the back bedroom a double. The front bedroom has a bunk bed(double-sized futon available upon request). Each bedroom has a dresser.

There is a washer/dryer in the basement. WiFi. On-site parking in driveway. We are five minutes from Butternut Ski Resort and 15 minutes from Catamount.

There is a pleasant backyard (perfect place to pitch a tent for the kids, there is also a tree fort). A gas barbecue is available for use as well. Note there is no dishwasher or air conditioning (most rooms have ceiling fans).
The bedroom with the queen bed has a window air conditioner.

We are an eco-friendly solar-powered house, with on site compost bin and recycling containers. The house does not have a microwave oven or a dishwasher. Sorry, no smoking or pets.

Interaction with guests

We live in New York City for most of the year and are in Maine during the summer months.
I can be reached via messaging and have a woman in Great Barrington who helps manage the property.

Other things to note

The house has two bathrooms. One of the bathrooms has a shower and one of the bathrooms has a tub.

We had a wonderful stay at Erica's home in Great Barrington. The house is exactly as described - very spacious and walkable to town. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs. We loved the chairs set up in the backyard - very relaxing! It was also a great place to stay with our young child - there were even some toys there for her to play with.

We loved our stay here! Erica's house is incredibly charming and sweet. It's within walking distance (10min) from Main Street's shops and the farmer's market, which was wonderful. The only drive we took all weekend was to hike up Monument Mountain, which we highly suggest. The house is spacious, but cozy and inviting and plentiful with games, records and interesting vintage furniture and objects. It was hot at night but Erica had fans and an air conditioner at the ready. We grilled out one evening and the cooking essentials and spices she provided made it easy to make a delicious home cooked meal:) The two children with us had a room that was perfect for them, with bunk beds and many toys provided. Erica was accommodating and easy to communicate with. All in all, we can't say enough good things about our visit- we'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. Thank you, Erica!

This home was exactly as described. Simply furnished, but more than comfortable for our group. We even found the "vintage" kitchen to be well-stocked, and Erica was kind enough to provide staples such as coffee and milk for us. Erica was wonderful with communication, responded to questions via text immediately. The house is walking distance to shops and restaurants in Great Barrington, but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful.

Erica's communication was excellent. She emailed me immediately after we booked the place. She was warm and helpful in answering my questions. A few weeks before our stay, she emailed me to provide details about the house. She then checked in with me during our first day of our stay and remained in touch throughout our four days. The house was clean, spacious and had character. Loved the wrap around porch and the backyard. Erica provided plenty of information about the area and the house. Her instructions on the fridge were clear and detailed. There was a binder in the living room about the area. She even posted directions to a gem of a swimming hole close by. We were attending a wedding at Eisner Camp and the location worked really well. A short walk into town and an easy drive to the camp. Saturday's farmers market is a must do. The neighborhood was quiet.

Erica was responsive and helpful about the arrival and departure. The house had some charm but could use some comfortable furniture in the living room. The linens/towels were wonderful and the beds were very comfortable. It was a hot summer weekend and the house became quite hot, although we knew that there was no air-conditioning. House was very clean.
