Staying at Donella's is: (i) beautiful - the views out to the sea are to die for, (ii) easy - Donella makes everything easy - from picking me at the station when I arrived, to making me breakfasts I loved, at the time I wanted them, (iii) relaxing - nothing is a bother, and the room/space is relaxed, nicely designed without being stuffy/formal, and (iv) enjoyable - I loved staying with Donella, and will definitely do so again, when down that way again.

Donella's home is just gorgeous. I had the top floor room, which has views over the beach up and down the Kapiti Coast - I could hear the waves crashing as I fell asleep - it was so relaxing. Donella is such a lovely, warm and friendly host - offering ideas and help with places to visit and knowledge about the area - and, I loved the selection of teas and the fabulous Bircher Muesli she made me for breakfast. The extra bonus for me, was getting to know the furry host, Charlie, the beautiful ginger cat, who is delightful! I highly recommend Donella's home - it felt like a such a treat to be staying there. Thank you, Donella!

Very friendly host, always up for a good chat. Lovely place to stay and Donella made us feel right at home. Cooked us a delicious breakfast on the first morning, (fruit salad, cereal, yoghurt, creamy mushrooms, poached eggs), and helped us out with bus and train timetables. Internet was also fast and reliable.

Donella. User ProfileDonella. is a superhost.

I am thought of as friendly, helpful and hospitable, and "go the extra mile" to make an occasion special.
Having lived abroad for 35 years I have a genuine interest in people and places, cuisines and wine, travel and culture. Lived in the UK and spent considerable time in Scotland and France, with holidays to many European destinations and Australia.
My background is project and operations management so I have a tendency to plan to succeed by focusing on the small details rather than just sketching out the big picture. Career was spent in the Oil and IT industries.
In recent years I have worked with several small businesses in a coaching and mentoring capacity. Interestingly my guests have often enjoyed interactions about their business development.
