Other things to note
Check out the authentic 'Queen Astrid-frame' in the living room. My grandfather got it from the king and queen themselves when he was a young blacksmith.
She moved to Bruges in 2000, home to the love of her life. Only to fall in love all over again – but this time with the historical city. For eight years, she worked in the cultural scene of Bruges, discovering all of its hidden treasures. Then she turned to copywriting for a living, following her true passion. When she spotted the Queen Astrid, she had a vision, called her dad and made it their new project.
For thirty-five years he ran his own roofing business. A couple of years ago he retired and now enjoys building different pet projects. In his free time – you know how busy retired people are – he travels Belgium in his mobile home and discovers the rest of the world by plane, boat, cruise or car. He’s the man behind the beautiful renovation of the Queen Astrid, and the guardian angel of the project.
