Other things to note
This cottage is in Poilley in Ille-et-Vilaine, close to Fougeres with its fabulous castle, classed as one of the most significant in France.
Poilley is close to St James, which has an American cemetery with fascinating detail of the German retreat in WW2.
Poilley is 30 mins drive from Mont St. Michel and Fougeres which are both historically significant, and making enjoyable day trips.
The sandy and rock pooled beach at Carolles in Normany is 30 mins drive and well worth a visit.
Please note there is another village called Poilley in La Manche, Normandy (about 30 miles north), so please make sure you check the map and put the area code 35420 into your satnav so you don't end up in the wrong Poilley!
The property has a steep staircase (see photos). We have a stair gate for infants.
For hot water please plug in the water tank found upstairs in the shower room. The tank takes about 2 hours to heat up initially, the plug has a timer on it which will reheat the water every 12 hours to ensure constant hot water. Please unplug the tank upon your departure.

Please remove any food from the fridge and cupboards before you go and put out the rubbish. Rubbish collection is weekly on Tuesday. The village recycles plastic, aluminium cans, paper, cardboard, so please put these in the clear yellow bin liner and place in big wooden bin on opposite side of the road before you leave.
Other landfill rubbish goes in the black bin liners in the brown wheelie bin. Please leave the bin across the road before you leave. Thank you :)
Guests cannot normally arrive on a Sunday, because the Bar Le Lyonnais is closed and therefore guests cannot normally obtain the keys, but contact us if you can only make a sunday arrival.
when you're checked in, feel free to relax in the garden and play boules and badminton, or take the bikes out for a ride.
Please park inside the front gate and not on the road as it is used by tractors.
