About this listing

My house is in a nice village of Panglao near the plaza and within walking distance to the market. La Familia Restaurant and a laundry service are nearby. I have Wi-Fi in the house and hot & cold shower. My place is 8 minutes by tricycle to Alona Beach and 4 minutes to the quiet Doljo Beach. Sorry, I no longer live here and have listed my four rooms for rent. I have 2 dogs in the premises.

The space

First, I have 2 dogs (a German Shepherd, and a Japanese Spitz mix). Please note that the price indicated on this site is for each bedroom for two persons. Bathroom is shared by two rooms. WE NOW HAVE HOT SHOWER. Sorry no kitchen on this floor but there is a refrigerator, microwave and toaster. Please also read "The Neighborhood" section on this page to familiarize yourself of my place. There is a nice restaurant called La Familia in front of the church/plaza one-minute walk from the house. Laundry service is near there as well.
DIRECTION FROM TAGBILARAN CITY PORTS:
From Tagbilaran City either coming from the airport or seaport, you can take a tricycle (300 pesos) or a taxi (500 pesos) to Poblacion Panglao where my house is. Tell the driver to take you to Casa Ligaya next to Sentorias Hardware. If you are traveling alone you can also take a habal-habal motorcycle for 150 pesos. Should you wish to take a public bus (bus fare is 20 pesos per person but very crowded). To get to the bus terminal from either airpot or seaport, you have to take a tricycle and tell the driver to take you to the Panglao bus terminal near Shopper's Market. There is no fixed schedule for the buses. They leave as soon as they are full. Good luck!

Guest access

A key is provided for your bedroom, another key for the main door and another key for the padlock on the gate. Please make sure you close the gate behind you and keep the padlock locked at all times.

Also, the washing machine is complicated to use as it is not automatic and it is for my personal use only.

Interaction with guests

I like to interact with the guests and answer questions they may have about points of interests in the area. I can also help you arrange with affordable tours you might want to take. If you have any questions you may text me on my local number or email me through AirBnB as I am mostly not at the house.

Other things to note

If you are a soccer fan and would like to join the game, you can do so every Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons starting at 4:30 PM. The plaza is also a great place for running, jogging or a game of badminton. The road outside my house is a great place for runners, just go out the gate go right (heading towards Tagbilaran).

The room was nice but for us was really hard to find the place because we arrived at night.

Super cheap but you pay for what you get. A bit warm without AC and since the windows are open it can get pretty loud (especially when people start working at 6:30 am). You need a scooter (recommend this over a tour) or have to take a tricycle to get anywhere.

It's a little bit far away from alona beach, but it's very quiet.

The place itself is nice, yet basic. Exactly what we needed though and good value for money. Joy was friendly and helpful, we did had to wait a little for her on check-in... I didn't mind however as there are plenty of small restaurants close. Alona beach, the main place, is only a 10 minute motorcycle drive away.

Joy is a wonderful host. Really nice, sociable and hospitable. She helped us booked Bohol tours as well during our stay. The house is clean and very homey. The resident dogs (especially daisy!) are really friendly to guests. The location is also strategic if you want a peaceful stay away from tourist / populated areas. It's close to Panglao Public Market and a motorcycle away from Doljo and Alona Beaches. There's also a sari-sari store nearby. Be prepared though to mingle with other guests since the bathroom and kitchen are shared.

Joy is very helpful. If you have any questions you can send her a message and she will respond very quick. The house is located between the locals. The people in the neighborhood are very kind. The bed is basic but nice because it's not that hard and you can shower with hot water. Nice ingredients for a good place to stay.

Joy's house was just the cutest. We loved spending evenings on the terrace. Our bed was very comfortable, the place was clean. Joy was very helpful. She would reply to our texts within a few minutes. There's no nice beach around but I think it's better to pay this small price for the room and spend the money on the scooter and be able to see the whole island. Also there's very good restaurant La Familia less than a minute away, we were eating delicious food there everyday. We really loved our stay and would definitely recommend it. Thank you Joy!

Thank you for checking out my place. I hope you will choose to stay here so I get a chance to meet you. I love meeting people from all corners of the world as I have traveled extensively myself in North America and a few countries in South America for 18 years as a photography assistant and travel coordinator. I am now based in the laid-back island of Panglao in Bohol where you can spend the days snorkeling, diving, swimming, paddling and much more and at night relax at the bars at the beach. Being a nature lover does not mean I don't enjoy the night life. Some of the few places that my friends and I like to hang out are Wok Bar (Music Quiz on Friday nights and Beer Pong on Saturday Nights) and Pinarella Bar to dance. So, come, visit and join us take in what this paradise has to offer. See you soon!
