This is a lovely place. My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary there with our three grown children and their significant others. Although we brought food with us, the kitchen was incredibly well stocked. The house was charming, the area was gorgeous. We did not feel on top of each other even though we were all staying in the same building. Having private living room nooks near some of the rooms gave us privacy when we needed a bit of time alone. The living room exuded warmth and comfort. Chris was a great communicator and everything was even better than described. The only problem we had was that the driveway is very steep, and my husband's car was a low Toyota Prius, so the bottom of the car scraped against the ground and something fell off. My children had zippier cars and they were fine. If you can choose which car to use to get to the Lodge, opt for a higher car with good power to help you get up the hill easily. Other than this, the Fox Creek Lodge was perfect.

Beautiful home in a private, remote location. Some bears around, but they don't approach the house. Can hear some hunters as well, but you can't see them (sound travels far). Great fireplace for a bonfire at night. Owner has some kindling materials as well. Greatly stocked kitchen with every tool and item you can think of. Great collection of games if you need entertainment. Very responsive and nice host, would definitely come back. Tip for future guests is to find the driveway/entrance on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps and create a pin. Otherwise, the address alone may not get you to the right place. (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) doesn't know where the entrance is.

For a totally secluded stay that's close (about a half-hour) to the heart of Shenandoah National Park, this is a great cabin. The accommodations are simple but comfortable. It can sleep 6 in the main rooms (and four more in an attic-like space). The road in can be a little nerve-wracking for a city dweller accustomed to paved roads -- but at least it was an adventure. Also: There are hiking trails on the property! Which is awesome. We saw tons of wildlife and had a great time exploring the grounds, which is filled with abandoned structures.

This was my second time renting Fox Creek Lodge and it was again a complete pleasure. It's amazing to have 30 acres to explore without leaving the privacy of the property, and it's all very unique.

Fox Creek was a beautiful place to have our family vacation. The grandchildren were able to enjoy the great outdoors and the family dog really enjoyed it, Chris was an excellent host. Knowing he was available for any questions or problems was great.

Fox Creek is a very nice place to stay. The house is well stocked with things you need for cooking inside and using the grill outside. It was nice having sheets for the beds and towels for every bathroom. We loved the area and the secluded feeling of the woods. We used the fire pit every night. The train that runs close to the property is a treat when your sitting outside enjoying the fire pit. The nice thing is you don't hear it in the house. We were an extended family of 9 and a dog, there was plenty of room for all of us. Chris was very helpful before, and during our stay. I would recommend staying at Fox Creek if your in the area.
