Emerge yourself in the typical French village life and get your fresh croissants in the bakery just across the square or sip a glass of wine with the locals in the bar. This 13th century luxuriously renovated house awaits you!

The space

This magnificent stone house has recently been beautifully restored and is located in the heart of the medieval bastide of Castelsagrat in southern France. The house is tastefully and comfortably furnished and suitable for a maximum of 5 persons.

From under your own "arcades" (medieval arches) experience the typical French village life. Villagers get a baguette from baker Alain, a piece of French cheese at the "épicerie" and the local farmers exchange the latest news on the village square. Across the square the glasses and cutlery tinkle on the delightful cool terrace of the village restaurant.

Our host was very welcoming and greeted us on our arrival. The house was exceptionally well maintained and spotlessly clean with all modern conveniences supplied. This 13th century house has been tastefully renovated with very modern features such as bathrooms and kitchen while keeping all its original charm and features. We would highly recommend this property For anyone visiting the area.

Our holiday at Castelsagrat exceeded our expectations and the apartment was so comfortable. Our hosts were incredible and very welcoming. The apartment is beautifully restored and genuine with rustic medieval stone walls and wooden fittings, scrubbed scrupulously clean, with modern bathrooms cleverly hidden discreetly. The kitchen was really well equipped, which was just as well as the range of foods available at the regional markets is amazing. The hosts have obviously worked very hard to ensure their guests are very comfortable and have done an amazing job of getting the balance of authentic historical building and modern comforts. In fact, we were so enchanted with the apartment and Castelsagrat we extended our stay (fortunately the booking calendar could accommodate us). We would not hesitate to recommend 'La Maison de Monsieur Calbet' and we sincerely hope to be back again one day. Truly an unexpected delightful treasure.

This is a beautifully restored medieval house located on the central square of a charming Bastide town. We stepped inside and felt as if we had traveled hundreds of years into the past, as the tasteful renovations made preserve much of the original character. It was a pleasure to cook and dine in the private back garden, or enjoy an evening drink on the main square under the stars. Natascha and Philip were lovely hosts, sharing vegetables from their garden as well as some of the fascinating history of the place, not to mention plentiful information on local activities and sights. The beds are large and very comfortable, bathrooms as well. The only negative point was the internet which we found cumbersome, with a system in place requiring frequent re-logins, and slow, even in the part of the house where reception is best. Otherwise, a delightful and unique place to stay- many thanks to Natascha and Philip!

Superbe maison. Décorée et meublée avec beaucoup de goût. Nous étions en couple avec nos 2 enfants de 8 et 12 ans, la maison est parfaite pour accueillir une famille. Idéalement situé, dans un village très agréable. Je recommande.
