The space

A large master suite with queen bed and futon/sofa & all the amenities of home. Option for 2nd adjacent room with full bed if needed (separate listing). Room in separate wing of house with security and privacy. Very quiet and comfortable. Private bath, desk with monitor, lots of closet/drawer space. Quiet cul de sac street a few miles from Stanford. For longer stays, there are laundry facilities. You can use my exercise equipment (elliptical machine, rebounder, some free weights, bands, medicine ball, exercise balls).

Interaction with guests

If I'm not around, happy to help via email/text. I love meeting new people and would love to chat if you are so inclined and also happy to leave you alone and give you your space. Either way works for me. Your wing is quite private.

Other things to note

There is a covered patio in the back with sitting area, BBQ, lighting.
Inside is a fireplace (gas or wood) in the living room. Very easy going hosts, warm atmosphere.

Ellen has been our best Airbnb host. No review would be able to summarize how awesome she is but we will try. She is super nice, professional, treats you like a friend and is on top of every detail for your stay. The house is in a beautiful and relaxing neighborhood in Palo Alto but it is also walking distance from shops and restaurants. In summary, I can guarantee this is going to be your best Airbnb experience. She is truly a SUPER host.

Ellen was there to greet me ... it was my first time at an Airbnb and you could not ask for a more welcoming person. Clean and functional space that worked well for me. I'd recommend to anyone as she is so sweet and very accommodating.

Ellen was a fabulous host. She spent significant time with us, walked us through the house, showed us everything, encouraged us to feel free to raid her fridge and even left us in the house alone for the night. Her house is beautiful and the room was nicely decorated, with a queen bed, desk, side tables, and futon. She also gave me a second room for use so that we would be more comfortable. She was very open to having a baby and a shedding dog in the house which was much appreciated. The room had an attached bathroom that was clean and in good shape. Overall a fabulous place and a great stay. Thanks Ellen.

I stayed here one night on a business trip to Palo Alto. Ellen was a very gracious and considerate host. The room is large, light-filled, and well-appointed, with a very comfortable bed. The neighborhood is quiet and residential. Nothing really in walking distance but restaurants, businesses etc. are just a short drive away. Highly recommended!

Response from Ellen:
Thanks Andy. I should mention that I do have a bicycle for guests to use as well which could get people to the cal ave shopping area and all the restaurants there (there's even a "bike boulevard" to avoid traffic. Although, I probably need to get a light on it for it be useful at night.

My stay with Ellen was perfect - I simply can't imagine a better host!! Very accommodating and so friendly when I arrived and throughout my stay :-) The room was huge, really nice and comfortable, and came with a fully stocked bathroom. The perfect home to return to after a busy day! :-)

Ellen and her daughter Roni were the perfect hosts! The room was large and the bed was super comfortable. It has a private bathroom which was very clean and nice. I had use of the whole house and was able to cook breakfast for myself. I ate out the other meals and found the house to be close to plenty of restaurants. I really liked having my own code to get into the house. It made it easy getting in and out and I didn't have to worry about keys. It was a great place! I will definitely be back.
