Beautiful bush setting, stunning views, whisper quiet, lots of local wildlife. Large bedroom with queen bed and bath/shower/toilet ensuite. Own private lounge with fire, DVD & TV. Very close by to award winning Darlington Estate Winery. Airport 20 minutes drive.

The space

Built originally in the 1920's the cottage has undergone a major extension and renovation and provides comfortable, quiet accommodation with stunning views of Perth and the beautiful surrounding bush land. A swimming pool, (in season) and hammock are just some of the little luxuries that come with it. It is available to solo travelers or couples only.

Guest access

The principle bedroom is a very generous size with ample wardrobe space, generous private sitting area, sliding doors onto the deck and north facing veranda. Bathroom is ensuite with shower, bath and toilet. The generous sitting room adjoins this bedroom and has a wood burning stove and access onto a large deck. There is also an additional separate toilet and shower in the laundry. A large family room (56+ sqm) with designer kitchen has stunning views of the city and a generous veranda with bbq this area is shared with me.

Interaction with guests

I tend to give my guests as much or as little space as they need.

Other things to note

The adjoining self contained "Perth Hills Tiny House" is listed separately.

Pretty easy going household. Very quiet neighbourhood and that's the way we like it.
The space is for couples and solo travelers only.
No smoking in the house.
I regret that because the property is unfenced and I treasure my local native wildlife, I do not accept pets.

Kirsty was such a wonderful host. This was our first time renting through airbnb and I think our expectation is now set very, very high! She had tended to so many details that made our stay so welcoming, and relaxed and her home has such a comfortable and calm energy about it. The views over the valley were stunning, and her home well accommodated our weekend retreat! Kirsty's generosity went above and beyond our expectation which we greatly appreciated. It is a little piece of heaven. We will definitely be back! Thank you so much Kirsty. :)

Kirsty's place is quite simply beautiful. It feels like you are on a treetop walk without the scary parts. You can see Perth far in the distance and there are tons on birds to keep you entertained. You can watch kangaroos from the deck as they thump along below. Whilst in the lovely pool the birds sing around you. Kirsty is the best of hosts and we shared some memorable meals with her. You should take the walk on the old railway bed to Glen Forest as we did one night for dinner. Fantastic walk and good food at the other end. Darlington is a village in the forest. We loved our time there and highly recommend this bnb.

We were looking for a little bush getaway. What we got was an amazing retreat with a beautiful room in a lovely home. We were able to experience 'spring in the hills' with bush walks and great local dining. Kristy was a great host and gave us plenty of local information and we enjoyed some great chats. Loved the chocolates and breakfasts! Hope to come back some time.

From the moment I walked into Kirsty's place to the day I left, never have I had a more welcoming experience than I did with Kirsty. She is a wonderful and generous host, with a wealth of knowledge about the local area. I went there to solely relax and I must say if a peaceful retreat is what you're looking for then you've definitely come to the right place! The views are absolutely panoramic on the outside decking! Breakfast was abundant in supply with farm fresh eggs, bread, cereals, fruit, tea and coffee, various condiments and jams, and there wasn't a thing I needed! I highly recommend this local gem in Perth hills and will hopefully return again soon :)

My first time on AirBNB and my expectations where well and truly exceeded. Kirsty was the perfect host(ess) in every way. She was welcoming, friendly, generous with her time and food, explained the house and told me about transport and local attractions. The house was in a gorgeous, serene bush setting, was spacious and had an enormous amount of private area for my use. A very generous amount of space for one and ideal for a couple - both for snuggling together by the fire, and if you want to be able to have some private lone time. The bed was very comfortable and clean and the bathroom was cosy, with clean towels, face washers and heating. It was very luxurious indeed. It's also an ideal place for bushwalks and you can easily catch a bus into Midland for gyms, shopping and grabbing some lunch or dinner. I would recommend it unreservedly to anyone looking for a quiet, cosy retreat in the Perth Hills.

As we arrived Kirsty was just about to take her dog for a walk. She recognized us immediately and was most welcoming. We were given a tour of our lodgings and the surrounds and then given the run of the kitchen. We were most impressed with our accomodation, the bedroom with its ensuite was complemented by a large lounge room, complete wiith wood heater, an outside veranda with outstanding views from the hills down to Perth. We also had access to another outdoor area with its garden and swimming pool. The Darlington area was close to cafes, a winery,a national park and in our case close to those we were visiting. You probably need a car to get around although public transport was nearby.

Response from Kirsty:
David and Connie, this translates as far as I understand it as "Quiet, close to nature and full of human touch" - thank you! That is so kind.
