Artist's home with beautiful (though slightly wild) green space and garden. Centrally located and close to the Exchange District, Health Sciences Centre, the University of Winnipeg, Wolseley, Sherbrook Street and Polo Park. Numerous great restaurants and cafes near by, and a grocery store right across the street.

The space

If you appreciate an eclectic, vintage feel and attention to little details, a claw foot tub (and shower), fresh veggies and herbs from the garden (June-September), plenty of good books and records, then you will feel most welcome here. This is a feminist, queer friendly space and does not discriminate against gender, class, culture, age, ability or lifestyle. Unfortunately, we are not wheelchair accessible. There's no big screen TV or manicured lawn here!

Guest access

Help yourself to the washer, dryer, great deck and outdoor space, organic fair trade coffee and tea. Can get access to a bicycle if desired.

Interaction with guests

I'm in and out often, but always only a text msg away. Make yourself at home!

What a great stay we had at Doreens! We cooked, listen to records, hung out with the kitty cat and enjoyed the neighbourhood.

A wonderfully quirky home in a very diverse neighbourhood. Doreen had great tips for places we loved, both in the city and beyond. And the cat is also an excellent host

This was a great spot for me to stay while in Winnipeg for a few business meetings. The place is clean and Doreen has been thoughtful to make simple things like shampoo, coffee etc available to her guests. I would stay here again.

Doreen's place is a throw back to living with a very considerate and helpful roommate. She creates a comfortable sense of home and it was great to be able to use the place while I was in Winnipeg for the Canada Summer Games. Doreen made it easy for me (even when I misplaced the key) and I appreciated the space.
