Interaction with guests

Getting around within the town, recently, has been a lot easier, for those that love bicycles. The municipality is giving free bicycles for a day, just in front of the Town Hall, by the KTEL bus station. If you plan to stroll around, Nafplio is a good base to head out to the numerous archeological sites surrounding it. Epidaurus theater, Mycenae, Tiryns are just some of them. Nearly all towns villages and tourist spots are serviced by local buses at all times. The bus station is at the end of the park, just before the old town, at Sygrou str 8. It is here you may catch the bus to the ancient (but still servicing) theater of Epidaurus, the ancient town of Mycenae. Very close it is Argos, the most ancient town of Europe, now a quiet agricultural town. It has a castle overlooking the town, the ruins of its theater and the remainders of ancient settlements, and some interesting nearby monasteries. It is also worth exploring the quiet nearby fisher-villages such as Vivari (with its lagoon and its wonderful sandy beach Kondyli), Hermioni town, Porto Heli with the ancient port of Aliis, the small fisher port of Koilada with its adjucent prehistoric Frahthi cave and the miniature churches in the doline wells near Didyma.

A quaint authentic village house in the backstreets of Nafplion. Just a short walk to the village square where there are many eating options.

Doretta's house is in the perfect location: old town, beneath Palamidi Castle, around the corner from Arvanitia beach, within 5 mins walk of shops, restaurants and all the lovely sights of beautiful Nafplio. It's a pretty, characterful old house on a gorgeous street, an excellent choice for couples or young families exploring the area. Doretta is the best of hosts, responsive and kind and very flexible regarding our late arrival. Thank you Doretta for our first and very happy stay in the Peloponnese! Carla, Stuart and family.

A very cosy and charming apartment, centrally located, but still calm. You can forget your car and enjoy walking in the city from the house. The cat is welcoming you on the terrace for breakfast ;-) Doretta is a kind host.

The house is located in the city centre, however it still manages to be a really quiet neighbourhood. But, unfortunately, we had some problems while staying here, to list a few : We didn't even get to meet Doretta. The smell, the whole house smelled stale and musty. The house wasn't properly clean when we first came in, we found a dead cockroach laying on the floor of the kitchen, and some parts of it were in a poor condition, for example, the bathroom, or the washing machine which is basically inaccessible. Also take into account that the "garden" is very small and shared with two more houses. All in all, in my opinion the cons outweigh the pros, so I would't stay again. In fact it has been my worst Airbnb experience.

Unfortunately we did not enjoy our stay at Su Casa. While the house is conveniently located, the house itself is not inviting and comfortable. As you enter the living room you are hit with a strong musty odour and the room is dark, small and in need of pest extermination. Repairs and maintenance are needed in the apartment: the toilet seat is broken, the living room air conditioner was not functioning, and the bathroom door is difficult to close. Painting had been undertaken and tape was left around fittings and paint chemicals where stored in the kitchen cabinets. The kitchen is well equipped, however, good hosts need to realise that it is unacceptable to expect guests to use dirty used kitchen sponges and used bars of soap. Doretta communicates well via email however, she does not make the effort to meet her guests. We left the bedroom air conditioner and room fan on in an effort to cool the room and remove the smell when we stepped out for a while and the host entered the house in our absence and switched them off. I find this unacceptable and an invasion of privacy. I was not expecting a luxury apartment for the price I paid but I do expect a certain level of cleanliness and comfort. I would not recommend this apartment especially for families with young children. The accommodation is not worth the rate being charged by host.

We spent two nights at Doretta's house and enjoyed our stay here, and in extension in Nafplio which is a really pretty town. The house is in a calm area, but very close to historical center. Ideal for a couple or a small family of max 2 kids. By the way Dorette suggested us two places to eat that we enjoyed greatly.
