Description

The space

It is a tiny studio flat has everything of a home. Space has been utilized smartly to accommodate an open kitchen, a bathroom with shower and a sofa that is also a pull-out bed.

The 200 sq. ft. flat has a patio that is even bigger than the interior itself.

The old airport used to locate at Kowloon City. That's why most of buildings in this area are not tall due to aviation rule.

People live here, so you won't see hustling night spots in this area. It has character of its own.

Supermarket, shopping mall, wet market, convenience store, laundry, pharmaceutical, beauty parlors, banks, coffee shops, restaurants and specialty shops are plenty and literally at the doorstep.

Kowloon City is famous for food. There are more than 200 restaurants in this small neighborhood serving international and local cuisines. They are reasonably priced and popular among locals.

Recently Kowloon City has been given a nickname, Little Bangkok, because of its growing Thai community. Many restaurants serve authentic Thai food while a few of them specializes in Thai style barbecue.

Next to my apartment, there is a street, Lion Rock Road, with many shops selling export apparel. If you are lucky, you can find sample clothes of named brands at unbeatable price.

When you live here, you must visit the nearby Kowloon Walled City Park (5 minute walk only) which has preserved some very important historical monuments. The garden has been beautifully built to imitate a traditional Chinese garden.

If you need to stick to daily jogging and swimming routine, the huge Kowloon Tsai Park is just nearby (5 minute walk).

Although there is no subway train in Kowloon City, there are many buses and minibuses serving the area. However, if you insist using subway, the nearest station (Lok Fu) is in 12-minute walking distance. It is already a far distance in our standard as we are spoiled by superb infrastructure.

Airport Bus A22 can take you directly to Kowloon City. Even if you walk slowly, it takes you only 8 minutes from where you take off to go to my flat. I'll email you a detailed instruction after your booking confirmation.

We don't have an elevator in the building. Lucky that the flat is on the first floor.

Guest access

Everything in the house is there for your enjoyment. Towels, disposable slippers, toilet amenities, snacks, soda drinks, instant coffee, tea, instant noodles, cereal and even coins for your small transactions.

Interaction with guests

I am happy to communicate with my guests by email, instant messaging apps, text and phone.

Getting around

Public transport is very convenient as the options for buses and minibuses are plenty - more than 50 routes. Connection to Lok Fu Subway Station is also very easy either by a short minibus ride or 12 minute walk.

Other things to note

During your stay, you'll be provided with a smartphone which also functions as a hotspot for WiFi sharing. You don't need to buy your own phone and data card.

Great host! Highly recommended. Even though he was not in HK during my stay, he was quick to respond my queries via messages.

Bill is definitely the best airbnb host we have ever had. We are super hosts but Bill is a SUPER host!! The apartment is compact but Bill has thought of everything from instant oats, coffee, snacks, drinks, toothbrush, razor, slippers, etc. The aircon is great as well! The balcony makes the place twice the size and is great for breakfast. The location is excellent! we loved being in Kowloon which gives you a more real life experience but it's close enough on the bus to the ferry and to Hong Kong island. Bill is a wonderful host, is always accessible and even provides a cell phone with data that you can use to keep in touch and find your way around. Bill loves interacting with his guests and he even kindly took us for breakfast on our first morning and refused to let us pay. He provides lots of itineraries for the city and information to help you make the most of your time in Hong Kong. Highly highly recommended!

Jon and myself had a great time and stay at Bill's place. The studio was clean, every detail for comfort and convenience was taken into account and Bill was really very nice and helpful. We even had a breakfast treat from him. Thanks for everything Bill. We sure would stay in your place again for our next visit.

Although the flat was in a lively neighborhood at Kowloon City,we didn't hear a noise in our sleep. The bed and pillows were really comfortable. The place made us feel like home, even though it was small. The space basically reflected the character of its hosts, warm and truly Asian!

Bill has helped us plan every detail of our trip, there was no wasted time trying to navigate or look for the location of the tourists spot cause he'll give you directions and tips on how to get there. Bill is most helpful and the place is perfect! The apartment is relatively small which is typical in Hong Kong but you'll have everything that you need, there's snacks, coffee, complete beddings, etc., everything that you need to make you feel like you never left home. The nearby food shops are also great, you can dine or buy some local bread. 15mins walk to MTR station and walking distance to bus stops. We did not have the chance to meet in person cause we were also always out but he made sure we've got everything we need to enjoy our trip. My husband and I can't thank him enough for helping us make our anniversary the most memorable one. We will definitely stay again when we come back in HK!

Bill's studio is an excellent value. The studio is self contained and well stocked with many amenities you do not normally expect for vacation rentals. The unit is sufficient for couples. Some may find it a little small but this is HK where real estate is one of the, if not the most, expensive in the world. Bill is great host where he makes sure everything is fine when you check in and during our visit. The provided smartphone with hotspot was a great tool in getting your own mobile devices connected while in HK. Due to the major construction of a new MTR station currently underway in the neighborhood you may want to consider taking a taxi from the airport to Bill's place if you are not familiar with the area.

I am born and raised in Hong Kong. I work as a film and TV commercial director most of the time. Travel is both my hobby and work. That's why I always want to meet people from different places and cultures in order to broaden my horizon.
