Foxglove Farm is a 120-acre organic farm on Salt Spring Island in British Columbia, Canada. The farm is located on one of the original homesteads on the island nestled in a mountain, forest and lake ecosystem rich in flora, fauna and natural history.

The space

The log house is a beautifully restored heritage farm house built in 1907.

The house is uniquely appointed with traditional décor, down comforters, fine linens and full bathrooms with locally made soaps.

The house has two private bedrooms: one with a queen bed and one with a double and one twin bed. Two captain's beds (perfect for a child or smaller person) and a queen size futon are also in place to accommodate additional guests. The house sleeps 4 guests for the base price of $225. Additional guests can be accommodated up to a total of 6 guests. Extra guests are $25/night per person.

The Log House kitchen is fully equipped for family style meals. Bountiful baskets of hand-picked seasonal fruits, vegetables, and fresh eggs can be ordered in advance and be waiting for you on arrival. It's a foodie's haven, eat seasonal fresh organic foods that travel zero miles from our fields and orchards to your cottage door.

There is a dining table, private deck, barbecue, wood stove, and a full bath with antique claw tub and shower. Dogs with responsible owners are welcome. A one-time pet charge of $40 applies. Dogs in the log house are limited to the indoor porch area only.

Foxglove Farm is family-friendly and children of all ages are welcome.

While we do provide high speed wireless internet at no charge we encourage you to unplug and be inspired and revitalized by this naturally beautiful and healthful place.

Guest access

Guests will have access to the farm grounds and the beautiful forest and lake eco-system surrounding.

The farm produces strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, asparagus, melons, greens, roots, a wide range of annual Mediterranean vegetables, as well as orchards of diverse varieties of peach, plum, apple, pear, quince, persimmon, fig, chestnut, and cherry. We also manage a small flock of laying hens, produce ten acres of grains and legumes, and have over 30 acres of hay and pasture.

Interaction with guests

The farm and land inspires community, gathering, eating, working and playing together whether you are a farm crew member or a guest. Foxglove Cottages and Heritage Log House are a great place to bring a group – sleeping up to 13 people family style. Guests can have as much or as little interaction with the hosts and farm crew as desired.

Other things to note

Fresh produce baskets can be purchased that feature in season produce traveling zero miles from our farm to your cottage.

Idyllic setting, quiet, peaceful and definitely off the beaten track! Perfect place to get away from it all. Log House was beautiful with lots of character and charm, and Jeanne-Marie was responsive and helpful. Salt Spring Island is a verdant haven from the modern world - we'll be sure to come back!

What a lovely farm to spend a holiday! Out of the 3 weeks we spent touring around BC the farm was our kids' favorite spot. Highly recommend at least a few nights here if you're headed to the area.

We had a great time on the Foxglove farm. We stayed 4 nights in the log cabin, with our two girls (age 2 and 4). The farm is beautiful, and was a nice, quiet retreat for our family. It's close enough to town, but a nice destination of its own to relax in and explore. The house was well equipped with lots of extra linens, towels, and a nicely equipped kitchen. Everyone on the farm was very friendly, and patient with our little rascals.

Response from Jeanne Marie:
Erik- Our pleasure to have you and your family. So glad the girls loved the farm. We really enjoy sharing the land. It feels like a little village with all the cottages full in the summer with guests from all over. Magic happens and we are glad it did for your family. Come visit us again. Jeanne-Marie

We absolutely LOVED our three night stay at the Log Cabjn on Foxglove Farm. The cabin has so much rustic charm. The country-style beddings are so soft and make for amazing sleeps, the washroom with its claw foot tub is gorgeous, and the kitchen is well appointed for self catering. (No microwave but encourages you to eat fresh!) It is so peaceful here and the perfect place to escape and slow down. Kids enjoyed biking and playing in the back yard while we enjoyed a glass of wine on the deck. The owners and farm workers are helpful and lovely and Meghan, the farm dog, is so friendly and hospitable and took us for a walk to the lake! No wifi, TV or cell reception (but there is a landline for emergencies) but this added to the quiet and relaxation :)

Response from Jeanne Marie:
Thank you for your sweet words and really honest description of our true rustic charm. We really try to offer a simple space families can relax, be happy and comfortable. We offer Cottage guests priority to sample farm produce by ordering ahead. The baskets are put together at market pricing, the same as the farmer's market or our restaurant prices so that you get to cook farm to table and enjoy the farm life during your visit. We hope you will come visit again. Jeanne-Marie

Produce basket way over priced. Unsatisfactory price to value.

JM's place was amazing, as advertised. Very peaceful and relaxing environment. JM is a terrific host and I highly recommend getting a basket of the farm's bounty from her!
