Great place to stay. Quiet and clean and Christy made us a great breakfast. It was just what we needed after a long day of driving. I would definitely stay at the lodge again.

Swanson Lodge B&B is conveniently located between Troy and Libby with easy access to all of the outdoor activities that the NW corner of MT is known for. The lodge itself has an interesting history and some historical artifacts still remain on site. Despite it being historic, it was well-maintained, clean and comfortable with all modern conveniences (including wi-fi). It's nestled near a pond at the base of the mountains: you couldn't ask for a prettier setting. Christy and her family are very friendly and accommodating and Christy makes an EXCELLENT breakfast. In addition to eating a ton of pancakes and sausage, my teen boys had fun taking the paddle boat on the pond, feeding the chickens cantaloupe rinds, and looking for frogs. Staying at the lodge felt like a real Montana escape: intermittent cell service :), beautiful wild surroundings, and friendly people. If I have a chance, I'll stay there again.

We had a great three-day stay here. ASwanson Lodge was familiar to us from when it was run by the Swanson sisters many years ago. Christy and Dan have done a fine job of maintaining the lodge in tip-top condition, while adding cabins to the complex. We enjoyed listening to Dan describe his progress toward making the complex self-sufficient -- for example building the cabins with lumber harvested on the property, and using a turbine to generate electricity from a stream that crosses the property. We were originally scheduled to occupy a room in the lodge on a B and B basis, but they were able to rent the whole lodge to a big group and so upgraded us for the same price to occupy a cabin. Christy's breakfasts were excellent. Although they do not operate the lodge as a restaurant any more, they would be glad to fix you a dinner by advance request, even using the old Swanson Lodge cookbook if you like. If you are interested in staying here, you probably already know that the Libby-Troy area is a big center for year-round outdoor recreation. Troy is five minutes away and Libby about 20. The Cabinet Mountains and their wilderness area loom over the Lodge from the east. The property is very quiet and is accessed by a short well-maintained road, mostly paved, from Montana route 56.

A magical spot in a beautiful valley hidden by the walls of the Cabinet Mountains. We loved eating our picnic dinner on the shaded back porch and the breakfast Christy made was amazing! Also very good, strong coffee. We loved our stay.

Hello,
We are a family of four (2 young boys) with a dream to re-establish an historic traditional Bed and Breakfast in a renovated log cabin. My husband and I have traveled throughout the world and find this place to be one of the most spectacular. Come see for yourself and enjoy mother nature at its best. Cheers!
