This room is one of four in a pretty flat in the heart of downtown Yangon. Coffee shops, supermarkets, a Hindu temple and several Burmese and other restaurants are all in walking distance.

Jake, your host, is an American immigrant in Burma who will show you the good stuff.

The space

You'll have your own room with a queen bed, aircon, a desk and shelves for your stuff. You can use anything in the kitchen and wash your clothes with my washing machine. Wow. The toilet and shower are shared.

Guest access

You will have access to everything in the kitchen, a shower, a Western toilet, laundry supplies and a wealth of knowledge and experience from your host and his friends. There's also a big living room with sofas and a TV, a bunch of DVDs and a balcony overlooking downtown Yangon. Ask me about the rooftop if you want a really nice view.

Interaction with guests

If I'm free, we will interact a lot. There's always something to do in Yangon. Many guests have become lifelong friends.

Other things to note

My prices are relatively low because I want cool people to stay with me. No snobs please.

There is no WiFi in the flat because fast WiFi is not available in Myanmar. It is more efficient to use your phone as a hotspot, which I and all other expats do here.

The Orange Room and the Yellow Room are nearly identical. If you are in a group of 3, either of these rooms will be a cozy fit.

Although we never met Jake, he was very welcoming and gave us so much advice. Even let us leave our luggage there for the day before our overnight bus!! If you are going to stay in yangon, definitely stay here!!

Jake is a great host. He was very welcoming and gave us some great tips and places to explore in Yangon. The apartment is in a great location in downtown and the room was sufficient for what we needed. Reasonable price when compared to other accommodation in Yangon.

Jake was a wonderfully helpful host! His place was perfect for our stay. Clean and walkable to the main part of the city. We had a great time and would happily stay with Jake again. Thank you for introducing us to Myanmar!

A great very well organised air bnb. Lots of local tips and very welcoming. We were able to use the washing machine though supplied our own towels. Jake is very clear on how to get to to the place and the local nuances. A great stay!

Jake's place was very nicely put together. The AC was fine, and the location was great. There were a couple of issue due to water festival. But we managed. It was a nice oasis from the hustle and bustle of Yangon. We didn't actually meet Jake, but his friend Hera welcomed us upon our arrival. There is a security guard and an elevator which were both appreciated!
