Elizabeth's place was far better then we had expected. The place was very spacious and warm and the room had this great wooden bench that my daughter and I could both fit our suitcases on. It was a great proximity to both the dolphin encounter and this great sunset lookout spot across all of kaikoura! She gave great restaurant recommendations and gave us fun things to do outside of the dolphin encounter. We had the most amazing steak and lamb at The Green Dolphin and the most amazing gluten free seafood chowder at the Pier Hotel! We also had some great seafood at this bbq stand on the way to walk the Peninsula. We highly recommend you take the time to walk the peninsula. It had amazing views! Overall an amazing experience, kaikoura exceeded our expectations. Will definitely come again and stay at this great place!

When I first arrived at Liz's Barnacle Bills I immediately wanted to stay here for a month. Ever single thing about this place is exceptional: the view, the cleanliness, every utensil is provided, the amount of space, the phenomenal bedding, the multiple sources of heating, the darkening curtains, the front porch w multiple seating overlooking the exquisite view, the option for a large family to stay here, the multiple grilling options, an entire area for cleaning freshly caught fish, TV and radio, hiking near by, the free laundry, and to top it off the garden is one of a master gardener! Liz picked me up from the bus station and took me grocery shopping and showed me around Kaikoura. She dropped me off for my whale watching tour and another day she took me back to get more groceries! Liz is the most gracious and generous host I have experienced. This place is a rare find on airbnb for all of these factors. It will remain the highlight of my trip to New Zealand.
