You will love your stay in this two-story 1858 antebellum townhouse! Its LDG location is ideal! Furnished in period antiques, Oriental rugs, & artworks, including those of its artist/owner, it is reminiscent of the fine Uptown homes of the 1850s.

The space

Enjoy your visit while staying in a beautiful historic New Orleans home in the Lower Garden District. You could not ask for a better location! It is conveniently located three blocks from the St. Charles streetcar & minutes from the French Quarter, which is exactly one mile on foot.

This unique 1858 antebellum home is a two-story townhouse being lovingly restored to its original elegance. It is furnished with period antiques, Oriental rugs, & artworks, including those of the artist/owner. The style is reminiscent of fine Uptown New Orleans homes of the 1850's.

The Red Room:

A massive hand carved mahogany queen-size bed greets you when you enter your room. It is well-appointed with luxury bedding, goose down pillows, & a premium mattress. The bedroom is lavishly furnished with period antiques & custom decorated in a 19th century Victorian style with a French flair. The bathroom is very small, but it has all the essentials including a glass shower stall. It is the best choice for folks that want to get up early, get ready quickly, & head out to a convention or to see the sights.

This particular room has the most beautiful light in the whole house. It is sunny & has huge walk-thru windows opening onto a balcony overlooking the back garden. There is a seating area there which gifts visitors with a real New Orleans experience. It so pleasant to have your coffee right outside your room, providing it is not raining! At dusk there is a magnificent view of the city against a sunset filled sky, with Purple Martins & Chimney Swifts, all dipping & diving & tweeting in unison. An occasional hawk can be spotted as well as sea birds & massive crows.

Each room has its own fragrance, all natural Caldrea linen wash & room spray with essential oils. The Red Room's scent is “Rosewater Driftwood" which complements the warm red, burgundy, & pink color scheme. If you are allergic to down or do not want fragrance, let me know in advance.

Both rooms have a Japanese Diakin Mini-split which is a silent & efficient central heating & cooling system. You can set it at whatever temperature you choose & it will stay EXACTLY on that temperature. We have wireless wi-fi on premises, plus an additional hard line in each room if you need faster service or have a lot of data.

There is a shared refreshment area upstairs with a mini-fridge, coffeepot, teapot, microwave, & toaster oven for your use. Gourmet coffee & teas, bottled water, sodas, distilled water, & Ozone purified water are always available there for my guests. You can bring alcohol & your own snacks if you choose to do so. You can also use the mini-fridge for the left-overs from those amazing restaurants you are sure to dine in!

Guest access

You will be assigned a set of two keys, one for the front door & one for your room. Don't lose them... there is a $100 deposit for lost keys!

Interaction with guests

I DO try to stay out of my guest's way as much as possible, to allow them their privacy, but YOU are the most important thing in my house! I am ALWAYS available for guests, any time day or night, just call or text.
Please use my cell phone to text or call, not the Airbnb site's number. It doesn't always reach me & I certainly don't want to be downgraded on communication. I am old-school & a call is a guarantee you will reach me, I don't always see or get the texts in a timely manor.

Other things to note

I don't provide full breakfast service as cafes & coffeehouses abound in the area. I keep a drawer in the downstairs fridge with yogurt, fruit, & some cheese if you want to grab a snack. Gourmet coffee & teas, bottled water, sodas, distilled water, & Ozone purified water are always available for you.

I will gladly pick up some breakfast food for you if you tell me well in advance; I cannot do last minute shopping. It is strictly a do-it-yourself system.

My kitchen is a public space & you are quite welcome to cook, hang out, & listen to music or news from the Bois ipod deck. My laundry room is also available if you need to wash something. Tobacco smoking is not allowed in the house, areas are located outside & on the balcony for tobacco smokers.

House Rules
No smoking
Not safe or suitable for infants (Under 2 years)

We do not wear shoes inside the home, as in Asian households. The floors are 200 year-old Red Heart pine with a hand-rubbed satin finish. They are very soft & scratch & dent easily. Rubber flip-flops & house shoes that are not worn outside are OK. I do my best to keep my floors very clean & sanitary if you want to wear socks or go barefoot.

Ladies, please do not use my towels or washcloths to clean off your makeup! I provide cotton balls & pads in each room as well as packages of makeup wipes. This goes for you gentlemen & your shoes too! If you need to smoke, please do so outside in the smoking areas provided.

Other than that, make as much noise as you like, each room is completely insulated for sound. Stay out as late as you like, bring alcohol if you wish, ice & glasses are available. Feel free to use & enjoy my home as if it were your own. The place is safe & in a great neighborhood, so have as much fun as you can stand!

I loved my stay at Georgia's. Both she and her home are beautiful and full of personality. Every room is filled to the brim with art and antiques; Georgia has such an eye for design and detail. She is also an exemplary host, and made sure we were properly hydrated and caffeinated at all hours of the day. I would highly recommend!

I loved my stay. I was in town for a conference at the convention center and door to door was under a mile. Georgia was a wonderful host. Great conversation and the house is a gem. The bed was comfortable, the towels plush and the selection of coffee, sodas, and snacks excellent. I'll definitely try to book in with Georgia the next time I'm in New Orleans

Georgia's house is truly amazing! It is a must stay place. It is decorated with taste and located within 5-10min Uber ride from French Quarter. Hostess herself is an example of southern hospitality. Georgia was very flexible in regards to check in and check out times and responded to every request in professional and timely manner. I would definitely recommend staying at this lovely place!

Georgia User ProfileGeorgia is a superhost.

Being naturally gregarious, I love meeting new people and making friends. My interests are too many and too varied to list them all; they include art, antiques, restoration, jazz, history, health, vegetarianism, Buddhism, spirituality, yoga, cats, gardening, knitting, beading, junking, & reading.

I am totally fascinated by absolutely everything in this wonderful life. Having been labeled "eccentric", I am very tolerant of just about everything & everyone. My motto is, "Worship all you see & more will appear!"
