My family of (4) Kids ,9,15- just got back from Havana last week 7/27/17. Traveling from Atlanta, GA. Bruno's apartment was great! Very clean, good a/c, king size bed in master, 2x twin bed in other room. Large L- shaped sofa in living room. Great sitting patio (nice neighborhood views). Housekeeper Marelys and daughter were there to greet us, and made great breakfasts'.(5cuc per person) ( fruit , coffee, breads, eggs, ham) I wrote down some of the items I wanted.
Bathroom had plenty of towels (she changed daily )and TP, and yes, toilet seats. Apartment is a 3 story walk up, Calle 23 is about 2 blocks down 2 blocks over (6-8min walk) major boulevard, to catch a taxi, or for a selection of restaurants, or to hotel Libre for tourists buses (10cuc per person). Taxi from airport was 25cuc. Marelys arranged a private taxi who took us to bay of pigs
150 cuc on a day trip. She gave us a cell phone for us to call her in case of ER, very nice lady. Her husband speaks good English. She can arrange a taxi on your trip back to the airport. Or you can as well , but make sure you do beforehand.
Plan to be out all day, old Havana including he walking and bus rides did not allow us to come back to the apartment until late in the evening. Take everything with you in day bags. Difficult to come back to change and go back out again for dinner and shows with kids. Fridge is stocked with water, beer and soda. 1-2 cuc .
Very warm and kind people. Neighborhood is different from US , ladies and kids out late at night never felt unsafe at anytime in any part of Havana. This was our 1st time at Airbnb, much different experience than a hotel with other tourists. Here, you really become apart of Havana(URL HIDDEN)BAB
