Traditional house full of charm and character with modern and traditional interior, based on 4 floors with a plunge pool. Set within a typical sleepy 'blanco' hill village, with fabulous views of the village, the surrounding hills and the coast. We are 15 mins drive to the coast and 45 mins from the cities of Granada and Malaga.
The house is cool, light and spacious with several areas to dine and relax. Cool down in our plunge pool, sunbathe on one of four terraces or take shade under the canopy of the grape vine. Ward off the winter evening chill in front of the fire place after a days skiing or hike.
We offer four double rooms and one single. One of the lounges can also be used as a bedroom and includes a comfortable single and double sofa bed. The rooms are light and spacious with balcony views towards the hills and sea. Three double rooms come with en-suite bathrooms with a separate private bathroom for the remaining double room and single room. Each room has a ceiling fan or air conditioning units. Other things to note
In addition to festivals during August and February, Ítrabo celebrates Culture week each April; an event that includes a wine festival in which local wines and foods are enjoyed.
The most important historical site in Ítrabo is the main church, la iglesia de 'Nuestra Señoradel Carmen' and the Hermitage of the 'Virgen de la Salud'. Built in the 17th Century, the church and hermitage house the image of the saint which is paraded through the village during festivals. Also of note is the town's pretty square, and public laundry wash place (know locally as the public newspaper!), and is still used as a meeting place by many residents. The hills surrounding Itrabo provide numerous walking opportunities with stunning views of the surrounding countryside and coast. Many of the paths are ancient mule tracks from the Moorish period, still used by farmers and mules to access their terraces of fruit and olives to this very day.
- There is a strict non-smoking policy for the house.
- Please note that the nominal additional fee per person per night also applies to children.
- Our house manager may have to visit during your stay to water the many plants that we have in the house and on the terraces. She will arrange with you a suitable time. We appreciate your co-operation.
