This is a Bright , very quiet room in an apartment in Central Toronto, in Little Portugal. It is in a very safe building and area, on a smaller residential street named Sheridan near Dufferin and Dundas West, where there is plenty of fun steps away.
Little Portugal is a walker's paradise, being in the middle and roughly equal distance to LIttle Italy, as Roncesvalles Village, the Galleries and restaurants on Ossington, or the Gallery scene on Queen Street West. If you would rather not walk or cycle, either the Dundas Street car, or the College Street car is steps away. The Bloor subway line is a 15 minute walk or catch the Dufferin bus a block away, which will be at the subway in a few minutes.
I attend a lot of cultural events in Toronto, and have lived here for 30 years, so I know a lot of what is happening. I'll have plenty of current art, music, and film festival guides, and will be able to tell you where some art openings are for wine and cheese, or free concerts, if you are interested in that sort of thing. The nicest thing about Toronto, there are countless things to do, much which doesn't require a bill to be paid.
The room itself is located off the entrance hall of the apartment, next to the bathroom. There is a queen size bed, and closet for your things. There is wireless internet, and a TV, which gets about 10 stations. The room has a little fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. I've done this as use of the kitchen , is during the day, so very early mornings, and late evening snacks can be had in your room.
Usually there is only me in the apartment, so anything shared like the bathroom, kitchen and entrance, will only be with me.
The area of Dundas West immediately around the apartment, is blossoming with cafes, galleries, bars, and interesting shops. Within a block on either side, there are cafes like Bivy, the Hogtown Cure, or the Federal Reserve to name a few. Pubs like Midfield, Fountain, and Black Dice or Lulas. The galleries are gradually moving from Queen St to Dundas West. Within a couple blocks are Art Metropole, MKG1Z7, Jessica Bradley Projects, Cooper Cole Gallery, TPW, Meredith Keith Gallery, PM Gallery and Milk Glass. A little further away is Trinity Bellwoods Park, Lake Ontario, or High Park.
Parking can be found on the street quite cheaply or for longer stays you could possibly stay in a parking lot behind the building. Ask me if I have paid for a spot for guests to park, as I may have if there is a need. A couple other parking options are, there is a greenP parking lot a block away from here which offers parking for a 24 hour period for $5....quite good! A visitor's city permit for street parking. Also it is possible to to move your car in the evening to one street, and to around the corner to another at around 8am. If you don't mind doing this, parking could be free.
One of the better ways to get around central Toronto is Car2go. (URL HIDDEN)
There is parking lot with the car2go cars 1 block from here. One only pays for driving time, as long as you park in one of the hundreds of designated green P parking lots, and you don't have to pay for parking. Perhaps you could get a membership before you arrive, and you will be set to go. However while in Toronto, there are always promotions for free membership and free driving time.
