Hélène & Olivier were great hosts! They met us at the house when we arrived to show us around and tell us about the city of Lafayette. They gave us a fig marmalade they make themselves and left waters and champagne in the fridge for us along with coffee and tea. The description was very accurate and we loved the house! It was so neat to stay in a historic house. The balcony was a lot of fun to sit out on when the sun was rising while we drank our coffee and while the sun was setting we enjoyed the champagne. Romantic is right. The bed was a lot of fun with the canopy and mosquito net around it. The house was very clean and homey. The house was in a good location compared to the sites we went to see although I would say it is in more of the run down part of town but I felt safe the whole time and did not need to worry about anything.

Helene and Olivier are wonderful hosts! They made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Their home is lovely, and the upstairs guest quarters, with beautiful furnished balcony, was very comfortable. They left so many nice touches--coffee, beverages, guidebooks, you name it! I know they both offer a wealth of info and history on the area--our only regret was we did not see them again during our too-brief stay! Lovely, quiet neighborhood, walkable to downtown. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you for our intro to Lafayette!

Everything was perfect. This historic home is located in the old "garden district" of Lafayette with many beautiful homes in the surrounding blocks. The bedroom room is beautiful. The second floor balcony which is just outside of the bedroom, was a perfect place for a cup of coffee at sunrise and a cocktail in the evening. Olivier and Helene were so welcoming, engaging and so very helpful with suggestions for our days and nights. The location is excellent for spending time in the downtown district. It's an easy bicycle ride into downtown.
