Our home is on 2 acres surrounded by beautiful trees near the Yakima river. Our studio apartment has a private entrance with a large, shady yard just for our visitors. Bike, hike, wine tasting. This area is a well kept secret!! We can arrange wine tasting, horseback riding, swimming, canoeing, and hiking. Jim speaks four languages (French, German, Italian, English) and we love our foreign guests!

The space

We have many people tell us this is the prettiest place in the Tri Cities!
This new, clean apartment was just built! Located in the Red Mountain area but still very convenient to town. It is perfect for short term or long term guests and is convenient to Battelle PNNL, Bechtel and Kadlec Medical Center. Apartment is attached to our home, but enjoy complete privacy (Private stairs and keyed entrance)! Full kitchen, bath, laundry, dedicated WiFi and Dish TV - All the amenities of a hotel or upscale studio apartment without the noisy neighbors !
Right outside the apartment entrance you have your own shady yard to enjoy uninterrupted relaxation or small gatherings. With 300 days of sunshine, our guests love the relaxing rhythm here.
This area is also a perfect jumping off point for visiting local wineries! We're 15 minutes from 19 wineries in the Red Mountain area.

Guest access

When you arrive, you will park in your own private driveway spot which is a few steps from the apartment entrance and yard! Very comfortable and convenient as there are no other guests.
You will enjoy your own yard with new outdoor glass umbrella table and chairs, A darling wood swinging love seat, lounge chairs and access to lawn games. There are park benches strategically placed around the property to view the pygmy goats and wildlife!!
We also have a large hammock attached to a large, beautiful willow tree.

Interaction with guests

We love to interact with our guests - but also conscientious of those who prefer privacy. We have loved everyone who has stayed with us!! If you want to know about the history of Richland, wineries in the area or share travel stories - we are available!!
Jim speaks four languages in our home: English, Italian, German and French.

Other things to note

This area is perfect for those who want to be in the country but very close to town and the major companies at the Hanford Site.
Given the nature of our neighborhood, large or loud get-togethers are discouraged. That said, we encourage small gatherings as it's a lovely place to entertain.

Highly recommend this property. Lori was amazing to deal with, she did everything she could to accommodate me. I have Tinnitus so I required a property that is very quiet and comfortable which Lori's property provided. They have a beautiful little orchard out the back with lush fruit trees I was able to help myself to. The house had all the essentials including fresh milk, egg and juice in the fridge. Thank you Lori I'd love to visit again :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Jim and Lori. Lori's warm greeting upon our arrival made us feel welcome and "home". The room is spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable! Next time we are in the Tri-Cities area we'll be sure to stay with Jim and Lori again!

Lori was such a welcoming friendly face, I felt like I've known her for years. She and her husband were helpful and accommodating while still respecting your space. Their space and the views from the room are stunning! Will definitely stay with them again for future adventures.

Wonderful place to stay in the tri-cities - it's off the beaten path on the out-skirts of west Richland with a real nice almost-country neighborhood feel. The studio was just the right size for two adults and two small kids - my kids really enjoyed feeding the goats and playing with the dogs. Lori was great - let us know everything we needed to know about the studio, tech (wifi, heating, etc.), grounds, and the area. She also gave us great little items like home-made power bars and let us pick apples, which were in season, off of their trees. We loved staying here as our home base for exploring the tri-cities.

This is a great place to stay if you want to be a little removed from society and be located near (1) the east end of the Yakima wine country and (2) the Tri-Cities. The place is perfect for two people and manageable for four. Overall, a great, one-of-a-kind experience!

Jim and Lori have a wonderful home in the country. Our apartment was clean and inviting, with unexpected touches. Jim and Lori were very hospitable and reachable by text whenever needed. It was nice to have the opportunity to do a load of laundry while we were there. We would highly recommend this airbnb option.
