The space

Lovely, updated and private cottage. Year round creek, tall pines adorn the front and crisp Mountain views if clouds obey. Easy access off I-90 for the weary traveler or days of comfort after fishing or rafting the Stillwater or Yellowstone rivers.

Two bedrooms available in a 2012 remodeled cottage located just south of Columbus, MT off Highway 78. Home was built in the 1950's and attached to a historic log cabin which has been transformed into an adorable, spacious bedroom with a queen sized bed and plenty of closet space. There is a second bedroom, also with a queen sized bed along with one bathroom and vanity with a raised sink. The kitchen has stainless appliances, alder cabinets and an open concept to dining and living creating a space for gathering and conversation. There is a washer and dryer located in the garage. This cottage is located next door to our family home on a dead end road. Views of the Beartooth Mountains.

Easy access off I-90 for travelers heading to the east coast or west coast. It is 3 miles from the I-90 exit. Great base for trips to Red Lodge, Yellowstone National Park, hiking and fishing in Beartooth Mountains whether you are visiting family or friends. Conveniently located between Billings ( 40 minutes) and Bozeman (1 hour and 20 minutes) along I-90. Recreation abounds along the Yellowstone and Stillwater Rivers within minutes of accesses to these rivers and trail heads for fishing, rafting, kayaking, paddle boarding, tubing and trail rides with the local professionals or as an experienced adventurer.

Columbus is the Stillwater County seat and offers local grocery shopping as well as retail shopping and several restaurants that serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The proximity and accessibility to hunting, hiking and fishing is plentiful. Our location lends to easy commute to Columbus or Absarokee, Montana if you are visiting family in the area as well.

Love the close proximity to the Stillwater and Yellowstone Rivers, National Forest accesses and Red Lodge Mountain in the winter time. For cross country travelers the ease off I 90 is paramount to saving time for those that are traveling late or rising early to get on with your journey.

There is no public transportation.

Stillwater County has a very nice 9 hole golf course, a 70 acres wooded park along the Yellowstone River with a boat ramp for rafts, canoes, kayaks and jet boats. Guided fishing trips available through the local fly shop, Stillwater Angler. Rafting trips are available through Beartooth River Guides. The Stillwater River is within 1 mile and also has a boat ramp available at Firemans Point. There are 3 additional accesses along the Stillwater River between Columbus and Absarokee. Up the road to Absarokee is Painted Trails horseback riding. Columbus has a gorcery store, several restaurants and public library.
