A lovely private room with it's own mini-living room in an amazing, warm and welcoming new home in one of Portland's best neighborhoods.
Walking distance to beautiful parks, delicious restaurants, fun bars, great groceries, and an historic cemetery.
We are the first owners of this 2011 built Renaissance home. It is eco-certified, has great plumbing, air conditioning and heating. Your room is large and has it's own queen sized bed, desk, and couch. A third guest could sleep on the couch or we have an inflatable queen sized bed as well.
You will have your own large room in the basement level of the home. You have a large half-sunken window that looks out to our garden and tea house.
Right upstairs from your room is a half-bath. On the second story there is a full bathroom that you will share with our roommate(s). We provide shampoo and conditioner, and some nice soaps, towels and little amenities like q-tips and stuff.
Your room has a queen sized bed, a nice little desk, as well as a sweet leather couch for lounging on! Our main living room is also available which has Cable TV, HBO and a fireplace.
Our kitchen is very modern and spacious (see photos) you can cook here anytime! We have all the basics (oils and spices) and some cereal and eggs for you for breakfast if you want.
We have lots of books if you need something to read, and business class internet (superfast). Tankless waterheater, new washer and dryer, and dishwasher.
We spend a lot of time on our lovely garden that is great for night-time grilling or daytime relaxing.
Interaction with guests
I am a web designer and work from home. That means I am here almost all the time, but I stay in my office and it is very private downstairs. That being said, I am happy to hang out! We truly enjoy living in Portland and have lots of recommendations for food and activities if you need them.
Other things to note
We have a sweet medium-sized yellow dog, Daisy, who loves people a lot. She is very quiet in the house and NEVER barks. That being said, she is still a dog, so if you don't like dogs, this is probably not the best fit.
We also have a cat, Billie. She only has one eye, and has asthma, so she MUST stay indoors. PLEASE DO NOT LET HER OUTSIDE or leave your window open if the door is open. She is very cuddly and likes to chase bouncy balls.
We also have 3 chickens (hens). They are free ranging most of the day if I am home, and they make some occasional clucking noises. If you don't like chickens, you should not stay here :)
Smoking cigarettes is not permitted on the premises. Period.
As of July of 2015, marijuana use is legal in Portland. We are fond of this! We understand if you do not want to be around it, so please be sure to let us know if you are uncomfortable with it and we can be sure to abstain during your stay. Anyone smoking must do so outside (because of our asthmatic kitty).
Please remove your shoes when you enter the house.
If you want to invite people over, we ask that you run it by us first.

Love hanging out on couches, hiking, gardens, and snow-everything. Reading a good book is just as good as an adventure sometimes. I am an art-student graduate from Boulder, Colorado. I moved to Portland, Oregon 8 years ago. I love swimming in rivers, hiking, and everything that has to do with animals. Usually very quiet, relaxed and enjoy little things.
