Renovated, charming & unique farm house straight west of University of Northern Iowa. Second floor has 2 guest rooms (SEPARATELY LISTED), each with own full bathroom. This, the "Green Room," is the larger of the two with 2 full size beds, lots of floor space, 2 dressers and vanity dresser, closet, and comfortable sitting/reading chairs, both East-facing and South-facing windows. Bathroom w/shower, double sink. Geo-thermal heat/air. Perfect for families, pet friendly. I have an Aussie pup, Freya.

The space

The house is very open, with tons of natural light, large open floor plan kitchen/TV/game room, wood floor and vaulted ceiling. Second floor has 2 large guest rooms listed separately. This is the "Green Room" and has the Green bathroom. The "Blue Room" has its own full bath. Geo-thermal heat and air-con keeps the house at the perfect temp all year around! Ceiling fan, plenty of blankets, plush new pillows on pillow top beds. Rolling table & desk chair for laptop work. In common area-Netflix & tons of DVDs to choose from (no cable or local stations), hundreds of books for loan as well. Full kitchen access, stocked for any cooking needs and breakfast foods provided (cook yourself). All you can eat fresh eggs from my cage free, happy hens.

Guest access

Help yourself to kitchen utensils and washer/dryer. There is a pool table and foosball table you are welcome to use with care. Complimentary coffee, tea, (cook yourself) all the farm fresh eggs you can eat from my happy, cage free hens, pancake mix, Oatmeal, milk, bread, fruit, etc. Sometimes, if I'm around, I'll whip up breakfast for guests but can't all the time.

Interaction with guests

I work a lot but am usually here on weekends and evenings, working on the farm. I'm involved in a lot of fun local activities so I feel relatively confident I can point you in the right direction for charming local attractions. I'm very easy going; simply respect my house and things and we will get along well. I've traveled extensively and love staying at Airbnbs so its nice to pass on friendly hospitality. I am very social so if you would like to have a chat and a drink, or watch a movie/Netflix, I'll be happy to hang out if I'm not outside working. :) If you enjoy your privacy, you will certainly have the space. Plenty of books to choose from if you like as well. Everyone I've hosted or stayed with as a guest has been absolutely fantastic. Loving meeting everyone through Airbnb!

Other things to note

This is an ACTIVE FARM with tractors and skid steers running around now and then. Chickens will occasionally be seen in the front yard. It is on a black top and gravel road and when dry out, its dusty and your car will not be immune.
There is a large flight of 14 stairs to the room plus a few coming into the house. Wood floor on the main level but light carpet everywhere else so shoes off going upstairs is appreciated. I have a decent reading collection so if you would like to read a book, you may. Please treat them with care. I have a mountain bike you are welcome to borrow to spin into lovely downtown Cedar Falls, along the scenic river trail to Waterloo or through any of the many trails all throughout the beautiful Cedar Valley and state parks.

Jenn was responsive to our requests and suggested places to check out nearby. Her place was close to the college town and local shops. The dog was a nice plus too!

We stay at Jenn's frequently while in the Cedar Falls area. She is great at communicating prior to our stay and is very flexible. We always feel comfortable and welcome in her home.

Slept very well in a nice comfortable room in a pleasant rural setting. Felt right at home cooking some delicious fresh eggs each morning, and fresh fruit was available including some great watermelon. If you are a reader then you'll Airbnb heaven - there is quite a library of books available! Jenn was interesting to talk to as she has many varied hobbies and interests. We enjoyed our stay!

I love being able to stay in a farm house and cook myself fresh eggs in the morning. We slept great and the beds were comfortable. It was a bonus to take a walk in the morning around the farm and up the nearby road. It is country so close to town!

We had a short stay, but it was so nice. The room was nice and clean. Beds were comfortable. Location was quiet so we could just enjoy our time away, but close to town if we needed anything.

The place was great, clean, and quiet, Jenn had the rooms cleaned and the beds set for us. Maybe will go there again if I am ever in Cedar Falls.

I am 36 years old and have been working at a Harley-Davidson dealership for 13 years. I own a farm with my family and have Arabian horses, chickens and turkeys. My brother and I bale and sell hay in the summer. I love to travel and love Bed & Breakfasts and meeting new people where I travel so I think this is a great program. I went to Australia last year and had a blast staying at Airbnbs. I have traveled around Central and South America, as well as Europe. I'm easy going and low key. I stay on the move and not around a lot but love to chat and get to know people over a pint. I keep busy between work, farming, Waterloo Lions Club, Iowa Irish Fest committee and my passion: scuba diving. :)
