Starr House is as beautiful as the pictures suggest. Well kept... Anna was on hand - very helpfully and non-intrusive. Shaun did the gardens and the pool guy came twice. It's perfect for a private holiday away from the hustle and bustle of life... the view is to die for ... amazing. All our needs were met in the house itself... best of all - HBO on cable so saw the season finale of GoT... bonus! The island is gorgeous... people are friendly and (URL HIDDEN) many beaches. We hadn't realised it was low season (late August) so a bit disappointed that many of the restaurants and galleries were closed :( In English habour there were very few tourists, but if you want that sort of holiday the west coast resorts may be better for you. We hired a car from Titi care hire - Suzuki 4x4 - cost $710 for the 8dys ... a little pricey esp as the car had done over 100k miles and bald tyres... but they picked us from & dropped us to the airport which was fab especially when we first arrived and knew little of the island. Definitely go for a bigger car if you want to visit the sites around the island as the roads aren't great. St Johns is ok but I'm not sure we saw the best bits... found the markets ... really fresh fish but go early - 8ish if you want to buy any - BBQing freshly caught red snapper for lunch went down a treat! Friday and Saturday has the markets also so good time to savor the atmosphere. We eat out at several places - Club sushi and Steakhouse... nice food, great quiz (Wednesday night) but pricey for a regular meal $320 for five people. Papas by the sea... great little place for a cocktail or three ... scrummy calamari and BBQ wings Sheer rocks - wonderful setting - matched by the food. We took a trip on wadidli cat - circumnavigating the island - definitely worth doing - great crew... best way to see the island... they even sailed the catamaran for a couple of hours. Overall great island, worth a visit but everything is shipped in so prices much more than than the U.K. (Maybe Brexit has added to this).

We went to the Starr House on our honeymoon and couldn't have picked a better island or better place to stay. The pictures of the house don't do it justice! Pretty much every wall has french doors that open up, allowing a nice breeze and views from wherever you are in the house. The pool and outdoor area are fantastic - we hardly left the house! The house was incredibly clean, booking was very easy; Nicky provided us with lots of great suggestions on restaurants in the area, day trips, beaches nearby, etc. I highly recommend you check out the Starr House - you won't regret it!

A truly beautiful home in a stunning location overlooking the sea with all the amenities of English Harbour to hand. Wonderful pool, spacious and well-equipped villa and fantastic hosts - Nicky was very helpful, friendly and organised and Anna was on hand on the island to help us with any queries once we were there. Everything had been thought of- from restaurant recommendations to insect repellant and we couldn't have asked for more from a holiday rental. A huge thank you to our hosts for sharing their gorgeous home and for making our first long haul holiday with our son such a magical experience.

My now-husband and I just got back from our honeymoon at Starr House. The house was simply the most amazing place we've stayed, and we've travelled all over the Caribbean. The views, location, pool, and simplistic decor were amazing. Check in was a breeze. The property manager, Anna, was awaiting our arrival at the house, and took her time showing us around. We barely left the house the whole time we were there. Who needs to leave with that pool and that view? Everything was better than the pictures. This was our first time using Airbnb, and this experience has definitely enticed us to use it more often for our travel needs. Thank you, Nicky, for sharing a piece of your paradise with us.

The Starr house was absolute perfection, we had a wonderful time. This house was meticulously planned by the owners and/or their architect. The three doors in the living room open wide and have hooks to keep them securely open, so you feel like you are outside when you are inside. The breeze is just great. The clean, beautiful pool has lights that change color so you can lounge on the deck at night and watch it change from blue to green to purple. All the windows and doors have easily adjustible, modern louvers to let in air. The mosquito bed nets fit well and were perfectly functioning with no holes. (We did not encounter many mosquitos, but we did shut the doors at dusk. Also, there were no roaches as in most southern latitude houses, not a single one.). There was lots of comfortable and varied seating, loungers, teak chairs, couches, etc. I was particularly impressed with the well stocked kitchen, it had everything we needed and no "junk" that we didn't. There was a well functioning washer with a nice clothesline, plenty of clothespins, a TV and tons of movies. Best of all was the spectacular view of Falmouth harbour. You could sit and look for hours, like a postcard. Falmouth is definitely the best location on the island, hands down. If you rent a car from Titi, do accept his offer to have his man drive you to the house from the airport, especially if you arrive after dark. The streets are windy and narrow and the maps are not very detailed, you could get really lost really fast since it's a big island.

Starr House was perfect for our needs. We are a family of five with three teenage boys. Great location for exploring the island and some lovely beaches 10-15 minutes drive away. The pool was very welcome at the end of a hot day. The villa was very well equipped and had everything we needed. Anna was very helpful making sure we got to the villa and settled in OK. As there was no obvious road sign on the turn off for the villa or name identifying the villa we did spend some time looking for it. It may be helpful for future guests to consider this but well worth it once we found it!! Papas is easy walking distance and serves great food in a beach front location. A lovely villa on a lovely island. Would highly recommend it. Alison and family.

His wife, Nicky, is a dentist practicing in the Uk. They have 2 children age 7 and 10 and try to spend as much time as possible in Antigua.

The house was built in 2012 as a family bolt hole, somewhere the Starr family could spend time during the season.
