Mariuxi and Dario were wonderful hosts. They made us feel very comfortable and were very patient with our lack of Spanish. They made contact soon after booking to give us directions to their place (and how much to pay for a taxi). It was a 15 minute walk into town but they had bikes for rent for $10/day which made it nicer to get around. Mariuxi also cooked dinner for us for $5pp per night and it was delicious. There are two rooms available so we also met a lovely British couple during our stay. The pictures are accurate and the room was clean. We did not use the kitchen facilities ourselves but were told we were able to use them if needed. All in all, it was a lovely place to be.

This was one of the most delightful airbnb's we've ever had. The room was quiet, we had our own bathroom, and the pillows super comfortable (very important). They have bikes and snorkle gear for super cheap to rent, the ability to do washing, and Mariuxi makes an awesome lunch (and tasty lobster dinners!). The cost is so cheap in comparison to hostels and you get the delightful added extra of an amazing family in Dario, Mariuxi and Elkin. They became like a family to us and stopped us more than once from getting scammed. Much appreciated! We can't thank them enough for making our last 4 days in the Galapagos so amazing.

Great stay with wonderful hosts! The room is perfect: comfortable bed with ergonomic pillows, hot shower with excellent water pressure, everything is really clean, there's even a little fridge in the room. The family is very helpful and hospitable, it was a pleasure staying with them. They also have lots of gear for rent: goggles, bikes, underwater camera. Truly recommended!

Dario and his family were the most hospitable hosts that I have ever encountered on airbnb. They made sure our trip was unforgettable by treating us like family and even taking us around the island on their motorcycles! Thanks to their generosity, our time on San Cristobal was remarkable. Highly recommend for anyone (single travelers, couples, or families) looking for a welcoming home in Galapagos!

Dario & Mariuxi's house was the perfect place for us to explore San Cristobal from. The room is fully equipped with everything we needed and there was a lovely breeze through the window which was great at night. We were never too hot or too cold. The neighbourhood is really quiet too so the only noise was the sound of chickens as we woke up in the mornings - bliss! The house is a 10/15 minute walk from town in a residential neighbourhood but the walk is easy along a paved bike path and then pavements. It's totally safe and we never caught a taxi because we enjoyed the walk. It's uphill on the way back so, if you'd rather, the taxi is only $1.50. As Dario told me, don't pay more than that! Dario & Mariuxi are perfect hosts giving you advice and helping you when you need it but also leaving you to your own devices. My partner and I are both learning Spanish so it was great for us to be able to practise with them. They were so patient with us, speaking clearly and teaching us when we didn't understand. Much appreciated! For us, it was so much better staying on San Cristobal with a local family who we could learn from and talk to rather than yet another soulless hostel. Plus it's cheaper! I highly recommend staying with Dario & Mariuxi.

Dario was a great host. He and his wife Mariuxi welcomed us into their home and did their best to offer advice on what to see on the island and how to see it. It is worth noting that the room is a ten minute walk outside of town ( along a well lit cycle path) or a 2 dollar taxi ride. Dario speaks no English but still made every effort to communicate. We would stay again.

Staying in Dario's house was great! It is a 15 minute walk from the centre but there's a sidewalk all the way and they came to get us to help us to the house when we arrived with the ferry. The room itself were nice and we could use the kitchen for preparing food. But the private bathroom in our room only had a thin curtain which was a bit too intimate for our taste. But the whole family was great and SO helpful with everything! They helped us call different places and arrange things we wanted to see and I had a bit of a cold when I was there so they gave me honey and lemon every day to soothe my throath. And they always asked us how our day had been and made us feel very at home and welcome.
