Townhouse in North East Washington, DC. 10 minute walk to metro, 15 minute metro ride to downtown or 15 minute car ride to downtown! First floor private bedroom with queen size bed, personal air conditioner, TV with streaming capabilities, and full bathroom inside room. Space for two. Free street parking. 24-hour check-in, flexible check-out, digital key-less home access!
This is a brand new townhome so the home itself is very updated and modern. The airbnb bedroom is on the first floor when you walk in the house and shares the floor with the entry way and the garage alone which makes it a pretty easy private access. The room is cozy with a queen size (real) bed and a private in room full bathroom. We have a heater in winter months and a portable air conditioner in summer months in the guest room as we recognize that will be more convenient for guests to control the temperature of the room in the room (although we do have centralized air for the house as well). We've added blackout curtains and have also just installed a TV in the guest room with streaming capabilities. The iron and ironing board is kept in the guest bedroom.
The second floor has the common area inclusive of a living room, dining room, and kitchen. The third floor hosts our bedroom and our second guest bedroom along with bathrooms. We also have a washer and dryer on the top floor. If you are planning to use the washer and dryer minimally that is fine. If you will need serious washing and drying during your stay then this may not be for you as the living spaces are fairly separated. The home has amazing natural light which we use far more than light fixtures. In the downstairs bedroom you can hear the water pipes when we use the water upstairs, but no one has found it to be bothersome. We bought this home as a new build in December of 2013. My husband and I are the only ones that live in the home. I walk and catch the metro every day to and from work. We have free street parking, although parking directly in front of the house is limited you can always find parking within two blocks of the home.
There isn't much in walking distance from the house as the neighborhood is pretty residential but the metro is a quick ride to places with food. If you are familiar with Uber and Lyft you can get most places in the city for under $15 outside of rush hour. We have two amazing outside spaces that we love, a front patio (close to guest room) and a back porch. You should feel free to keep food in the fridge to prepare food if interested. Help yourself to water from the filter.
You will have access to the private bedroom and private bath on the first floor. You are also welcome to use the kitchen, half bath, living room, dinning room, porch, and balcony if we are not using those spaces. If you request we can also give you access to the washer and dryer.
Interaction with guests
We are happy to speak with you and help you throughout your stay! We are in and out the house so in-person interaction may be limited depending on our schedules. You can best reach us by text message, e-mail or a phone call regularly. You may find that is the best way to get in contact with us.
Other things to note
We have keyless entry! Our new digital code lock allows you to enter and exit the home without a key. You will be provided with a unique four to six digit code prior to check-in. The house does have an alarm system which is why you will need to notify us in advance of your anticipated check-In time so we can de-activate the alarm if we are not home. The keyless entry works for the front door only. Your code will be for you only during your stay and will be deleted upon check-out. This makes it easy for you to come and go as you please without concern about a key. We can control the door lock from our phone if necessary. Call us if you have any problems entering the house.

I am a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV). I have found that international development is the career choice of my heart. My husband and I live in our listed home and do not have children (yet). I really love my church (International Christian Church) and would be thrilled if you were interested in attending Sunday service or Friday night bible talk with me. We both speak fluent Spanish (and English). We've just started doing Airbnb in mid-March 2016. We are pretty hands-off hosts. Once you check-in and we show you around, we go about our day as usual until you reach out to us. We are pretty quick in getting back to you by text or Airbnb mail. But we are also happy to engage in conversation if that interests you!
We love to travel and I love to read. We are fans of all kinds of music but particularly bachata, soca, and soul are our favorites. One of my favorite movies is 'The Notebook'. I absolutely couldn't live without my family or my savior Jesus Christ.
My favorite bible scripture (today) is Job 42:1-3 which says "Then Job replied to the Lord I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted. You asked, 'Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?' Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know." It reminds me every day that in submitting to God he has the best plan and purpose for my life.
